In 2013 Ghislaine Maxwell’s TerraMar was at the UN talking up an oceans Sustainable Development Goal, a “social network around the oceans,” and the high seas as a global commons. That year Diana Fox Carney was VP of research at Canada 2020... carbon pricing, inequality, the Liberal-adjacent think tank later wired to the Podesta/CAP circuit that hosted Clinton and, years after, Obama. That August the Carneys were photographed with Maxwell at the Wilderness Festival on Diana’s sister’s estate. TerraMar died in 2019. The file did not. This week in New York, Mark Carney and Ursula von der Leyen launch OceanEye: hundreds of millions for global ocean observation, Canada ratifies the High Seas Treaty, and Ottawa has just named Diana Fox Carney Canada’s first Ocean Envoy and chair of Our Ocean 2027 in Halifax. Unpaid, they say. Climate, conservation, Indigenous stewardship, maritime security, 30×30... the SDG-14 hymnal with a maple leaf. Trump spent last year calling an IMO levy on ship emissions a “Global Green New Scam Tax on Shipping” and knocking it off the table... Observation funds and a biodiversity treaty are not that tax. But they live in the same UN mailbox: measure the ocean, govern the high seas, then price and police what moves on it. Nobody has produced a TerraMar org chart that becomes OceanEye. What you can see without a subpoena is the neighbourhood... UN oceans talk, climate-finance boards, festival photos, think-tank politics, a prime minister’s household now holding the ocean brief. Canadians are cutting groceries, delaying bills, and paying more for nearly everything. Carney is flying from airport to airport for speeches, handshakes, and photo ops. You sacrifice. He travels. The Liberals call that leadership. Do you believe Carney is putting Canada ahead of his personal ambitions?

It’s been reported that David McGuinty was pressed for details on what specific risk scenarios were assessed. McGuinty wouldn’t say because: “The Prime Minister indicated that that’s the kind of detail that we would not get into. So we won’t get into that,” That’s because there is nothing to discuss, they never ran any such scenario and Carney is a liar. You can bet Carney wants this to go away as fast as the story spread.

One of the things I find really interesting about Mark Carney's time as prime minister is his media strategy. He operates like a provincial governor of the global American empire, prioritizing the outlets inside the United States and treats the Canadian press as provincial and beneath his attention. He is clearly aligned with the blue-state American elites. You can see it in who he hires into his administration and in the lib conferences that keep on being held on Canadian soil. He does not conduct himself like a man trying to protect Canada in its relations with the United States. He conducts himself like a man trying to make life as difficult for Donald Trump as possible, which is exactly the strategy you would run if your job were to sabotage him on behalf of the global American empire rather than to protect Canada in a moment of crisis. Much like how the liberal party has conducted itself historically they are rhetorically anti-American but structurally very continentalist. Carney's priority is trying to sabotage Donald Trump for the benefit of the blue-state elites, playing for time, hoping to stall until the 2026 midterms or maybe the next presidential election, when they believe they can take power back. The fact that he hands every important interview to the American outlets and ignores the Canadian ones tells you how provincial he thinks Canada is. When he had a genuine bombshell, that he has war-gamed a US invasion of his own country, he gave it to the New York Times, not a Canadian desk. It explains why he keeps sabotaging trade and swinging at Washington with big rhetoric while doing nothing to fix the structural problems Canada actually suffers from. When Mark Carney had to put his investments in a blind trust he did it in an American fund. When Mark Carney sends his kid to university he sends them to an American, not a Canadian one. He could be reindustrializing this country right now. He could be bringing back high-paying jobs, driving down the cost of living, building something real. Instead he spends his position and his power on sabotaging Trump as the main event, and on getting his friends in on government-funded business deals. That last part has a name. It is embezzlement..
