Suspect Charged in Brutal Mackinac Island Sex Attack Is a Mexican National A Mexican suspect is facing charges following a vicious sexual assault on Mackinac Island in Michigan last week, authorities have confirmed with Border Hawk. The shocking attack unfolded at around 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 16. A woman was walking alone in the vicinity of Main Street when she was ambushed by a male assailant. "It was reported that the victim was walking alone when she was forced to the ground and assaulted," the Mackinac Island Police Department stated. "The male suspect then fled the scene on foot." The victim was treated for injuries at the Mackinac Island Medical Center. Officers identified the suspect and took him into custody later that day.
