Those who still believe that democracy is rule by the people are deluded. It’s a breeding ground for grifters, traitors and opportunists. Resulting in a political class that holds its positions of power with cheap rhetoric, nepotism and lies while the country gets fucked to hell.

I have always held a dim view of human nature. In many ways, that is the view out of which my conservatism grows,contra progressives who like to think that we get "better " with time. It is no accident that the belief in the perfectibility of Man comes from the left.
