Two-thirds believe that his incredibly cruel deportation policies have gone too far and three-quarters disapprove of his handling of the economy and the cost of living. That last point is hardly surprising and crosses over demographic lines. Americans of all backgrounds are struggling to survive the worsening affordability crisis brought on by Trump's pointless Iran War and tariffs. Just two short years ago, Trump enjoyed a 4-point lead over Kamala Harris on the economy amongst Latino voters. Now, Latinos give Democrats a 21-point edge on the issue. 59% want Democrats to take control of Congress, while just 35% hope that Republicans retain control. The Latino vote will likely prove decisive in deciding these midterm elections and Trump's anemic approval could result in Texas finally shifting blue. But rather than confront the problem head-on, the President is doing what he always does, which is screech "fake news" and stick his head in the sand. Good. It makes our job easier.
