Remember: Putin supports them all—the far left, the far right... anything that challenges the EU and has the potential to spark social unrest.

I spoke with Pope Leo XIV @Pontifex and wished His Holiness a full and speedy recovery following his surgery. We are grateful that even during this difficult time for him personally, His Holiness remembers Ukraine and prays for our people. I briefed him in detail on the situation with Russian escalation and Russia’s constant strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities. We also discussed the humanitarian catastrophe in temporarily occupied Oleshky. We are working to help our people there. We are preparing decisions. His Holiness informed me about contacts with the Russian side on this matter. Of course, we also discussed all the current security challenges and threats, including the periodic lack of warnings from our partners about Russian ballistic missile attacks – something that has happened three times recently. I thank His Holiness for his support and all his efforts to achieve a dignified peace.

Thank you, @SenBlumenthal and @SenThomTillis, for the opportunity to meet with you and your colleagues from both parties and both chambers of Congress. I informed them about Russia’s brutal “shahed” drone attack in the Kharkiv region, where Russia killed six people, including a mother and her child, who was just over a year old. I showed the horrifying photos from the scene – a child killed in a stroller… This is how Russia responds to sanctions waivers and reduced pressure. I also explained where things stand with intelligence sharing and Starlink operations in Ukraine. Unfortunately, we received no early warning from our partners about the first wave of the Russian ballistic missile attack last night. And we still face speed restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services in different parts of the front. No explanation for either of these issues has been provided to Ukraine by the American side. Our teams will follow up on everything discussed today. I thank everybody who participated in this call for their strong support.

❤️‍🩹 Before and after Russia. A Russian strike heavily damaged the Good News Church in Kramatorsk, which had already been hit in previous attacks.

Another sleepless night in Ukraine because of Russian terror. Russia launched 16 ballistic missiles at Kyiv and the Kyiv region and more than 200 drones across Ukraine. Over 10 energy facilities were damaged, leaving at least 550,000 families without power. Homes, a school, a medical clinic, and a metro station were also damaged. There are casualties. There is a cold-blooded calculation behind Russia’s terror, and Moscow has been given reasons to believe it can succeed. It can reject de-escalation, continue launching ballistic missiles, and still benefit from sanctions relief or delays in economic restrictions. Meanwhile, Ukraine faces obstacles in obtaining the interceptors needed to protect civilians. These decisions have consequences on the ground. Russia’s ability to continue this war depends on the resources it receives and the weapons Ukraine is able to stop. Cutting Russian war revenues and ensuring uninterrupted deliveries of air defence systems and ballistic missile interceptors must be treated as urgent, connected priorities. If anyone still believes Moscow can be persuaded to stop its aggression through concessions, the intensification of Russian terror against Ukraine and its hybrid and kinetic attacks across Europe should have shattered that illusion long ago. The decisions taken in response must make further attacks harder to carry out and more costly to finance. Anything else leaves Moscow with the means to continue the war and no reason to stop.

At its 225th session, @UNESCO’s Executive Board adopted a decision on UNESCO’s Emergency Assistance Programme for Ukraine, extending the programme amid Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine. The Executive Board thanked Member States and partners that have already contributed to the programme and called for increased support for Ukraine. The decision also tasks UNESCO’s Director-General with monitoring the situation in Ukraine in areas within the Organization’s mandate, within Ukraine’s internationally recognised borders – an important sign of support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ukraine appreciates all countries that have contributed or intend to contribute to the programme, as well as the Group of Friends of Ukraine at UNESCO and all members of the Executive Board that supported the decision. As Russia continues to attack Ukrainian cities, cultural heritage sites, educational institutions and research facilities, urgent priorities include assessing damage, documenting destruction, protecting cultural property, ensuring the continuity of education and research, and restoring damaged infrastructure. Following the decision, Ukraine stressed the need for faster responses from UNESCO, adequate funding for relevant programmes, and increased financial contributions from Member States and international donors to support concrete projects to protect and restore Ukraine’s education, science, culture and cultural heritage. Several Member State delegations also spoke in support of Ukraine. The decision should help mobilise further international resources and turn solidarity with Ukraine into tangible results to protect and restore the areas covered by UNESCO’s mandate that continue to suffer from Russia’s aggression. @UKRinUNESCO

Trump still has options to end this war decisively and quickly! Just give him a week and he’ll suggest imposing sanctions on Ukraine and her allies…

Good morning ☀️ I’m asking for a little help getting my cousin Andriy’s collection across the finish line. We’re getting closer to securing a much-needed pickup truck for his unit in Ukraine. If you can spare a few dollars, thank you. If you can’t, please consider sharing this post. Every bit of help matters, especially now. Thank you to everyone who has been helping my family. I appreciate you more than you know. Donation information is in my bio. 🇺🇦
