It’s been 76 days since we gave away this 2019 Model 3 that has 610,000 kms on it. Today it finally heads over to its owner in California. Dusty and I are going to fly down there in a couple weeks and deliver it to the winner.
(FYI, yes it took almost 3 months for this car to clear customs to be exported from Canada to California 😂)

Just completed a battery health test on my 2026 Model Y Launch Series. Just crossed 38,000 miles. It’s been on a bunch of road trips and seen a huge amount of DC fast charging.
I feel like the battery retention of 94% is pretty good given the fact newer cars have reported much worse results.

Nice to see a new public DCFC station with the NACS charging cable so close to home. Never heard of Near Connect though - easy enough to setup the app for charging.
Southern Manitoba 🇨🇦 is no longer the charging dead zone it was 2 years ago.

1. @tesla charging prices are cheap in Canada at $0.43/kWh CAD ($0.31 USD)
2. Gas prices in Canada are insanity at $1.79/L = $7.16/Gallon CAD ($5.20 USD)
3. The Shanghai Model 3 with the CATL LFP pack absolutely rips with charging speeds of 178kW at 52% SOC.

It’s been a busy week of pattern testing here at Drive Protected. I just wrapped my 26 MY Launch Series in our Matte Defense+ PPF to test out our new PPF patterns and they are so, so good!
If you’ve been here a while, in the last 16 months the car has been wrapped in Matte PPF, full clear PPF and Satin Black PPF 🤣

Big day for us tomorrow as we pick up our Shanghai built Model 3 RWD. We were supposed to pick this car up a few weeks ago but put off delivery until this week because we were busy with Rivian R2 content.
I cannot wait to share with you all what we are going to be doing with this car. It’s never been done before. 🍿

Final charge in the @Rivian R2 before handing it back to @teslaflexx and I sure am going to miss the nice flat consistent charge curve this thing has. This is the charging performance that Tesla needs in their 3/Y lineup.

Hot take from someone with an average understanding of DC Fast Charging. After 6 charging stops today, the Rivian R2 has far better charging performance on @ElectrifyAm and @Rivian Adventure Network charger than the Tesla network.
I mean, even the worst charge I had today was still considerably better than anything I’ve seen on my Tesla Model 3/Y so I should probably not complain.

There is plenty of charging options in the area. If you only want to use Tesla Superchargers, then full charge it before heading out. The speeds are slow so I doubt you’d run out of range.
Plus there are a ton of Teslas and other EV’s out there
