Anthony Duran Hicks, 33, residing in Little Canada, has been charged with 1st degree burglary of a residence occupied by a woman and 2 kids. Charges detail that Hicks crashed into a mailbox in Burnsville on Tuesday then fled from a vehicle. His female passenger stayed behind. During the police search for Hicks, the resident called 911 to report a male in her residence. When police arrived, Hicks fled out the back, where he was apprehended. The criminal complaint notes that Hicks is considered a "dangerous offender" due to prior violent crime convictions, including multiple 1st degree burglaries and assault. Hicks also has at least two active warrants on prior convictions for drugs and a DANCO violation. Hicks remains in custody on $100,000 bail.
