Today, we announced Georgia will become the 11th state to enter into a Cooperative Interstate Shipment agreement with @USDA.
For nearly six decades, Georgia’s state-inspected meat processors could only sell their products within the state. Now, eligible small processors will be able to join the FSIS CIS program to ship across all 50 states under the USDA mark of inspection - while maintaining the same rigorous food safety standards Americans expect.
This means new markets, new customers, and more freedom for Georgia’s small businesses to grow.
