ANNOUNCING: Sequoia has launched Superpower for its own 800+ employees. And through our new partnership, Superpower is now available to eligible employers across Sequoia's ecosystem of more than 2,500 companies. Members get: - Comprehensive biomarker testing - A longitudinal view of their health - Personalized recommendations - 24/7 Health AI and clinical support For employers, that means moving healthcare further upstream, before risk becomes a diagnosis or an expensive claim. As we all know, healthcare has a timing problem. We start paying serious attention to our health only when something goes wrong. We built Superpower around a different idea: Give people an extensive understanding of their health earlier – then help them continuously act on it. Eligible Sequoia clients that want to launch before the end of the year get a special opportunity to get started. This is another step toward making proactive healthcare available to millions more people. We're just getting started.

I'm speaking @NewcomerMedia Machine Earning next week with @illscience about investing in this era. It prompted me to revisit a thesis I wrote ~15 yrs ago about investing in a prior platform shift. It felt both cringeworthy and...surprisingly relevant.

Questions That Endure

I recently came across a consumer thesis I wrote in the mid-2010s. I hadn’t read it in years, and there is something slightly unnerving about encountering your own thinking from fourteen years ago.

Launching CC your Townie today, which lets other people work directly with your Townie over email. It's an incredible time saver and will wow you in so many ways. Try it out. (I'll be doing a lot more posting about how I use this to save me hours every week and why trusting your AI to work directly with others is one of the biggest shifts in HCI)
Nobody signed up for email scavenger hunts or cat herding. But when a customer wants last quarter's usage numbers, or you're wrangling three calendars, two time zones, and one person who never writes back, CC your Townie. They'll take it from there.

Perhaps the one thing better than collaborating with my Townie is my Townie working with other Townies—without me getting involved. Starting today, you can add your Townie to a group text, and they can handle things with your coworkers, friends, and family—and their Townies.💙
The first of many launches in September that I am extremely excited about. You can now bring your Townie to group text threads, and it's both super useful and super fun!

AI for normal people is still the biggest opportunity hiding in plain sight. @jgreze & the @TownAI team get it. Excellent feature in @platformer: "I'm very AI-optimistic in the long term. I think we're still pretty far from that happening. Most people don't know what AI can or can't do." platformer.news/town-intervi…

"One of @Novig's appeals to customers is it offers a different kind of sports speculation experience, one without a house that takes a 'vig,' the fee that bookies take for arranging a bet. @j__fort has harsh words for many of the dominant sports gambling players, calling sportsbooks 'inefficient, exploitative, & predatory.' He sees the peer-to-peer model as distinct, since it’s two parties on equal footing going up directly against each other. But if Novig goes how he’d like it to go, those parties won’t always be two average sports fans squaring off. The company is actively courting financial institutions to take sides of wagers, and Fortinsky says Novig is currently onboarding proprietary trading firms and banks." wired.com/story/novig-says-i…

People don't adopt technology because of capability. They adopt it because it changes behavior. Instagram became how I share my life. Uber became how I get around. ChatGPT became how I ask questions. Most agents haven't found their "how I..." moment yet.
