According to local residents, Kanakwal village alone has more than 50 cancer patients, and skin diseases are reportedly affecting many children. Residents even say that at night, the flames and gas emissions are so intense that it feels like daytime. Thousands of people living nearby believe the refinery is violating pollution norms and that harmful emissions are being released without adequate monitoring or accountability.
