Sounds like when we lived in Hawaii and mainly older Asian ladies would reach out and touch my very young daughter‘s (blonde) hair and even took pictures of her -most asked, but some just did it like I wouldn’t notice. It was odd, but I didn’t bother her or me. The only time I consented to a picture was when this (Asian) family asked if their little girl could take a picture with mine. She said she wanted to so I didn’t care. She had very long and thick blonde hair with big curls, and looked like a baby doll. Not sure why you would need “thick skin” when women are being complimentary, even if it comes off kind of creepy. Call it a double standard or whatever, but it’s entirely different when it’s coming from a woman than a man.
