Bernhard Glück- today: Dov Gilon- was born in 1935 in Darmstadt. He fled Nazi persecution with his family, and survived the Shoah. I was honored to return to him what had always, rightfully been his: the German citizenship. Thank you, Dov, for sharing this special moment with us.

After Yad Vashem, my second visit took me south. I wanted to see where things stand nearly 3 years after Hamas’ terror on October 7. As the rebuilding of the kibbutzim is getting underway, I also learned that dealing with the trauma caused by this horrible pogrom will take time.
