I’ve been convinced. Today I am calling for an immediate and total ban on any use of artificial intelligence by government in any capacity whatsoever. Any government employee found to use any sort of AI system should face 20 years in prison as Bernie has proposed.

Potentially a big deal. Strong privacy is a necessary feature if Bitcoin (or any alternative protocol) is to achieve a full Cypherpunk/Cryptoanarchist future. It’s also almost certainly a necessary aspect of any serious attempt by an AI to peacefully dismantle/replace states.

The ostensible goal of the House of Representatives is to *REPRESENT* the will of the people, not execute it. Even if that will is futile. The fact that not a single member of the House of Representatives is willing to introduce a clean repeal is frankly despicable.

Let’s presume (as @Philip_Goff does) that this is true, and that all existing property claims are tainted by some original sin of violent government expropriation... He comes to the rather convenient conclusion that the violent history of the state justifies the continued violence of taxation. But I think that analysis misses the actual point: People should be in control of their own lives. Honest people acquire property by spending their time voluntarily exchanging goods and services with others. When other people seek to take such property by force, they are retroactively claiming the time and effort spent by others to acquire it. The state stole a lot from a lot of dead people. It’s not possible to make those people whole, they are dead, and their past victimization should not be used as a justification to continue the vicitimization of the living. You can say that their ancestors are owed damages in the form of Reparations, and I wouldn’t even disagree… But it’s impossible for the state to pay such reparations without creating new victims in the present.

This is what your taxes pay for. This is the thread under which they are collected. This is all the state has to offer us.

Similar situation happened here in Las Vegas. Some moron donated a bunch of Cybertrucks to the @LVMPD. Nothing about the cybertruck in itself is tyrannical IMO (though you might disagree if you think cameras are tyranny) I still view it as a hostile act on the part of the donee.

No state can be allowed to have access to advanced intelligence. States have killed hundreds of millions of people, this isn’t mere speculation, it’s historical fact. They cannot be permitted to wield potentially destructive technologies.

This is what your taxes pay for. This is the threat under which they are extracted.
