Utterly retarded point with an implicit appeal to the mythical Tasteful Class… very common among status-obsessed posters on here. The average American creates a black-teenager mind-tulpa to watch their every move; these people do the same thing with a fabled High WASP. “You’re gonna scare off the ELITE HUMAN CAPITAL!” The whole thing is rooted in embarrassment at rejection by one’s liberal peers, and even moreso by embarrassment at association with The Chuds. So, they construct a mythical Tasteful Class in their mind, a standard against which to judge their every action. “There’s a real high society out there bro, you’re just not invited” — as if there’s some secret Cool Kids’ Club of high-culture enjoyers interested solely in the beauty of things for their own sake, immune to the technic eye that drives every other class’s behavior. They’re Democrats (of course), and all politics must be contorted to gently romance their “tastes,” instead of the messy and “lowbrow” business of creating lasting political change. Nevermind that the “elite” class has repeatedly shown itself to be boorish, gaudy, and “lowbrow” by any reasonable definition (these are the people who talked about Hamilton like the second coming of Christ, after all)… these types still desperately crave their approval. The whole framing gives people like the poster below a chance to keep The Chuds, their temporary and very-embarrassing ideological allies, at arm’s length while extolling their own Tastefulness. It’s naked status-signaling at the end of the day, an outgrowth of their seething distaste for the white middle class. They actually enjoy Bizet for its own sake, y’know! They’re totally not just using it as part of a Pinterest-board lifestyle aesthetic, or engaging with it like team sports fandom. Sure, everybody else does that with everything, across all classes and political positions, but not me, no no no… I enjoy things in a more Refined and Pure manner! Carried with it is a deeper, implicit belief in a Sorkinite elite, in truly Elite Human Capital, at the center of the Democratic Party. This is partnered with the belief that the GOP is “alienating” them by their lowbrow tastes: by Trumpism, by “crude racism,” by Kid Rock and college football tailgates. It’s Lincoln Project “let’s bring back respectability in politics, folks!” smuggled in via intense striver status-signaling. It is the ideology of permanent loserdom, of total submission to Clinton-world, just so they won’t be embarrassed in front of their college classmates. “God, please, let things go back to Normal so I can climb the fixed status-ladder of rudderless neoliberal insect-civilization. Please make people care about Vanity Fair again!” That train already left the station, sorry pal. Whining isn’t gonna stop it.
Never been to the opera before? Now’s your chance. We’re giving away 70,000 free tickets to the @MetOpera at the iconic Lincoln Center. Go to on.nyc.gov/opera to enter the lottery. There’s not a bad seat in the house.

Very irresponsible of him. First, he's not wearing it correctly (only a trained nurse or physician can wear one properly). Second, KN95s are for our healthcare experts, not civilians.

Well, it was a unique ending today in Caleb Flynn's trial. Two AI-generated songs Flynn wrote for his mistress were played in the courtroom. Flynn wrote the lyrics, AI composed the songs and the voice. Many in the gallery had a hard time keeping a straight face

The key to understanding what the Declaration is, contained in this line: “we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” Notice the 56 men who signed this do not pledge to the revolution, the colonies, or the people of the colonies…they pledge to *each other*…this is a covenant, an oath among companions and conspirators, the oldest political bond there is (remember that politics in its most primal form is that of a group of armed men sworn to each other, usually in the form of a band of thieves and murderers), but these men were noblemen, the men of the natural aristocracy, in every way but their actual titles. Richard Henry Lee, who moved the resolution for independence on June 7, signed beside his brother Francis Lightfoot Lee. Benjamin Harrison, George Wythe and Jefferson were Virginia planters who had sat together in the House of Burgesses for years, and Wythe had taught Jefferson the law. These men knew each other. They put their names down together knowing that English law took from a traitor his life, his estate by attainder, and his heirs' right to inherit. Tacitus describes the same bond among the Germanic tribes. A chief kept a comitatus of sworn companions, and for them surviving the chief in battle meant infamy for life. The founders knew where they believed they came from. Jefferson once proposed that one face of the Great Seal show Hengist and Horsa, the Saxon war chiefs from whom, as Adams said, "we claim the honor of being descended." Politics in its first form is a band of armed men sworn to each other. Romulus filled Rome by opening an asylum on the Capitoline to fugitives. He got the city its wives by carrying off the Sabine women. Rollo was a Viking raider when Charles the Simple granted him the land that became Normandy in 911, and five generations later his descendant William took England. Augustine asked what kingdoms are without justice but great robber bands, and what robber bands are but little kingdoms. They are ruled by a chief, held together by a pact of association, and divide the spoils by agreement (law). Manchur Olsen had a great was of describing it in economic terms: the state begins when a roving bandit settles down, becomes a stationary bandit, and finds it pays to protect the people he taxes. The United States began as a pact among friends and equals who had staked everything on each other. By the King’s law, these 56 men were a band of outlaws.
Never let what the Declaration means cause you to forget what it is.

Unfortunate that Heidi Overton was not asked in her hearing today whether she would remove the FDA’s ridiculous recommendation that all Americans wear sunscreen, including on cloudy days and in the winter, and the recommendation that Americans limit time outdoors.

I find it concerning that Dr. Overton has apparently not made any public statements about the most important public health and civil rights issues of our time: solarphobia and LED lighting. We can’t make America healthy again without making Americans tan and our lights golden again. I hope Dr. Overton will go on the record to affirm her allyship.

I never needed any research to know that blue/green-heavy fluorescent lighting is satanic mitochondrial poison. When I was an undergrad I didn’t know anything about this, but in an A&P class mostly full of nursing students, we once had the class effectively shut down because me and one other person refused to participate in a class where they turned the shades down on the windows to prevent sunlight from coming in and turned on the overhead fluorescent lights. I don’t even remember what the rest of the class’s argument was. It might have been that the light coming in from the windows created a problem with the angle. Or maybe some of them were using laptops and the sun was causing a glare. But two of us were just sensitive enough to know we didn’t feel well with the fluorescent lights on. To be honest I can still sense that I could probably become psychotic if I spent all my time under them. I am quite sure that many people who are psychotic are psychotic precisely because they spend all their time under these deranged lights. I instantly feel that I am not truly in the real world when I move from sunlight into these God-forsaken evil lights. Our argument was in any case what is wrong with sunlight? What is wrong with someone who shuts out sunlight so they can bask themselves in artificial light? This is like throwing out fresh meat and berries so you can eat dog food made by a machine.
🚨🚨🚨 Blue light exposure from LEDs induces progressive weight gain, metabolic dysfunction, and multiorgan pathology in mice. A new preprint by Glen Jeffery and colleagues out of Kuwait found that mice exposed to 450 nm blue light at an intensity within the range of human environmental exposures exhibited: - progressive weight gain despite reduced food intake - altered glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity - Increased adipose tissue mass - organ weights (heart, liver, kidney, testis) were each reduced by ~10% - fat deposition - hepatocellular degeneration - renal tubular damage - steatosis - impaired testicular architecture @RogerSeheult @hubermanlab @AbudBakri @KenDBerryMD @seagertp @BlueLightDiet @zaidkdahhaj @rowanjacobsen @ChrisMasterjohn
