This morning I joined base leadership and local veteran groups at @nas_oceana for a wreath laying ceremony at the Flame of Hope Memorial. Built in 1972, the Flame of Hope Memorial stands to honor the Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action from the Vietnam War. Today, it represents our commitment to remember the men and women that never returned home and to honor the families that carry their legacy. We will never forget their service and sacrifice for our nation.

The #FY27NDAA strengthens our military, raises pay for servicemembers, restores defense spending to 4.5% of GDP, and invests in the capabilities needed to deter our adversaries. The bipartisan bill includes 33 of our sponsored provisions, our strongest result yet.

25 years ago today, Americans watched in horror as al-Queda terrorists attacked our nation. Thousands were killed and wounded in this unprovoked aggression. The assailants who carried out and planned these attacks were no less than pure evil. Like most Americans, I remember the fear and panic of that day vividly. I also remember the acts of pure heroism by first responders and everyday citizens. Today I join in the pledge to never forget 9/11 and the lives lost to this tragedy.

Today, we remember the 2977 innocent people murdered by terrorists on September 11, 2001. We honor the first responders who ran toward danger. And we salute the servicemembers who answered the call to defend our nation We will never forget.

Big news for America’s defense startups: a SCIF in every state. The 2025 reconciliation bill provided funds to help the Pentagon build shared Secure Compartmented Information Facilities for the industrial base. @SASCGOP and @HASCRepublicans commend the Department for moving quickly to put these funds to work for American innovation and national security.

Our national security is powered by the men and women of our defense industrial base, who build the ships, aircraft, and weapons our warfighters need to defend America. As Chair of the Cyber Subcommittee, we worked to ensure #FY27NDAA cuts through bureaucracy by reviewing DOD’s cybersecurity, IT, network defense & defensive cyber operations to reduce redundancy & strengthen accountability.

Countering emerging threats requires cutting-edge technology. The #FY27NDAA invests in AI, autonomous systems, cyber, quantum computing, hypersonics, mobile micronuclear reactors, and high-energy lasers, ensuring our warfighters are equipped with the tools they need to win today AND meet the threats of tomorrow.

America must lead the world in military AI. The #FY27NDAA accelerates the deployment of AI systems, modernizes the networks needed to support them, and gives our warfighters cutting-edge tools to fight and win.

Space is a warfighting domain, and America must maintain the advantage. The #FY27NDAA authorizes a historic increase for the Space Force, improves launch infrastructure, and accelerates the next generation of space capabilities.

On V-J Day, we commemorate the end of World War II and honor the courage and resolve of the Americans who fought to defend our freedom. 🇺🇸

Our military networks are under constant attack. The #FY27NDAA strengthens cyber defense and ensures the Department of War is better positioned to defend and operate its networks in the age of artificial intelligence.

The 188th Wing’s current Remote Piloted Aircraft activities and the FMS F-35 Mission at Ebbing Air National Guard Base are playing a critical role in strengthening our military readiness and global alliances. @HASCRepublicans Chairman @RepMikeRogersAL and I saw this firsthand today as we toured the training space and engaged with the commanders of the Arkansas National Guard and 188th Wing who are carrying out their missions with excellence and bolstering our national security.
