Think first. ✔️If someone you know sends you something unusual, verify it another way. ✔️Don’t install software from a link someone sends you. Go directly to the legitimate source. ✔️Turn on MFA. ✔️Keep your devices and apps updated. ✔️And remember: familiarity is not authentication. The person may look legitimate. The message may look completely normal. That’s the point. You don't need to be a cybersecurity expert to make yourself a harder target.

Kathy Hochul pardoned a convicted felon — a Dominican national who pleaded guilty to second-degree assault — effectively killing the Trump administration's appeal before the justices could rule. The case would have determined whether noncitizens, including green card holders, have a constitutional right to a bond hearing during prolonged ICE detention. Hochul issued the pardon just as the brief was due, drawing fierce criticism from legal experts who say she deliberately torpedoed the case to shield a convicted criminal from deportation. Solicitor General John Sauer says the administration will find an "alternative vehicle" to bring the issue back before the Supreme Court during its 2026-27 term.
