This year’s conclave, themed ‘𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐓𝐈 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬,’ centres on four areas of shared regional priority: Food Security, Sustainable Energy Solutions, Emerging/Trending Technologies, and Equitable Access to Education. Approximately 𝟏𝟐𝟎 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 from across ASEAN Member States and India have arrived in Phnom Penh for the Conclave. The Indian delegation brings together 𝟏𝟕 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 working across the four themes of priority.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will lead the ASEAN Secretariat's delegation to participate in the 2nd ASEAN-India Women Scientists Conclave (2nd AIWSC), to be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 10 July 2026, under the theme "Building Inclusive Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Communities."
Organised by MISTI, Cambodia, and the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar), in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat and the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of India, and supported by the ASEAN-India Science and Technology Development Fund (AISTDF), the Conclave will bring together women scientists, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from the eleven ASEAN Member States and the Republic of India.
Dr. Kao Kim Hourn will deliver the Congratulatory Remarks at the Awarding Ceremony, join the VIP delegation walkthrough of the scientific exhibition, and present the award to the winner of the scientific pitching competition.
The Awarding Ceremony will also witness the launch of the ASEAN-India Collaborative Research and Development (AICRD) Scheme 2026, a new milestone in deepening ASEAN-India cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.

The third day of #YIM2026 featured an interesting mix of sessions and activities, with speakers from diverse backgrounds. With special talks by invited speakers, mentor talks, and a panel discussion, the themes range from building a team to building communities, science policy, science engagement, and research management.
