Smith and Representative Kim Schrier (WA-08) @RepKimSchrier voted line for line for multi-trillion-dollar Biden-Harris spending sprees, including the $1.9 Trillion American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act. King County families and local small businesses are still paying a steep price as we try to recover from lingering Biden-inflation at the grocery store and the gas pump. While Rep. Schrier claims to be a moderate and Rep. Smith claims to see the problem, their 100% loyalty to tax-and-spend policies tells the true story. 🚨Seattle math at its finest: spend millions on the LEAD program, subtract the accountability, and watch the street crisis multiply. Reps. DelBene @RepDelBene and Jayapal @RepJayapal used wildly inflated success rates to secure federal funding for a program that actively turns drug offenders right back onto our sidewalks. Promising diversion without consequences is not compassion, it is just a multi-million dollar policy failure. We deserve a government that delivers results instead of revolving doors. 📢 While King County residents struggle with affordability and public safety, our County Council just spent their afternoon virtue signaling against parents and female athletes. Our own executive board member, Victoria Palmer, took to the podium today to inject some much-needed reality into the council chambers. She boldly defended Initiative 638, reminding the council that it simply restores the pre-2019 standards for girls' sports and aligns with Title IX. She also set the record straight on the left’s favorite piece of misinformation, clarifying that the initiative merely requires a standard doctor’s attestation on a physical form—not the sensationalized "invasive exams" activists are claiming. Predictably, the council majority chose political theater over common sense. Councilmember Mosqueda @TeresaMosqueda doubled down on the fear-mongering, falsely claiming the initiative forces "genital exams" and labeling the citizens' effort to protect women's sports as "discriminatory" and "hateful". Even more absurdly, Councilmember Baron @jorgebaron openly acknowledged that our region faces massive crises with public safety, homelessness, and high gas prices—yet he still managed to blame Donald Trump for the council having to debate the issue at all. Ultimately, the council voted 7-2 to use their platform to formally oppose I-638 and I-001 (the Parental Bill of Rights). A massive thank you to Councilmembers Dunn @ReaganDunn and von Reichbauer for being the only two voices of reason to vote "no" on both motions. Identity politics shouldn't trump reality, and bureaucrats shouldn't replace parents. It’s time to reclaim self-governance and return our local institutions to the people. @wagop @letsgowa

💸 It is hard to trust Olympia with a new state income tax when they have a track record of giving our money away to the wrong people. During the 2020 pandemic, the state paid out at least $647 (some estimates as high as $1.1 billion) to international scammers while legitimate Washington workers waited months for help. While a portion of the funds was recovered, public trust hasn't healed. If politicians cannot protect public money from basic cyber scams during a crisis, they have zero business taking a larger share of your paycheck today. Let's bring accountability back to our state government. Vote Republican and Vote YES on I-645. @WAGOP

💸 Nothing says "civic duty" quite like having your tax dollars spent with zero oversight. An independent review found nearly $700,000 in questionable costs at King County's Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS), plus a manager funneling $813,000 to relatives. The department's grant budget surged from $22 million in 2019 to over $1.8 billion recently without adequate controls. Many officials, including Reagan Dunn, believe the actual figures of misused funds reach into the millions.  We do not need a new state income tax to fund their waste. Vote YES on I-645. @WAGOP

💸 We all love doing our part, especially when the government is so careful with our money.🥺 Since its inception, the KCRHA has swallowed $533.9 million in state, federal, and local funding, representing only a fraction of total regional homelessness spending. Yet a forensic evaluation revealed a $44.7 million negative cash balance, $13 million mismanaged or unaccounted for, and $1.26 million burned on unrecoverable interest while unsheltered homelessness spiked 21%. Paying a new state income tax sounds like a fantastic investment when public funds just vanish. Restore sanity to King County by voting Republican and voting YES on I-645. @WAGOP

Twenty-five years later, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We remember the courage of the first responders, the strength of the families and communities affected, and the lasting impact of that day. King County remembers. We will never forget.
