Interesting history I read on fb. 👇 August 21, 1883. Just after six in the evening, the sky over Rochester, Minnesota turns the color of a bruise. Twenty minutes later, a third of the town is gone. Thirty seven people are dead. More than two hundred are bleeding in the streets. Rochester had no hospital. Not one. So a convent school on the edge of town emptied out. The nuns walked into the wreckage in full habits, and a woman named Mother Alfred Moes, an immigrant from Luxembourg who had come to America with almost nothing, sent word to the only doctor in town who could handle that many wounded. His name was William Worrall Mayo. He was 64, an English country doctor, a hard skeptic on the subject of religion. The sisters took over Rommel's dance hall and turned it into a hospital overnight. YouVersion is now publicly saying that The Passion Translation is “in review”. Bethel has also officially “paused” the sale of TPT. Here’s some more context on these developments. First, after long silence Broadstreet Publishing started a “review” of TPT and Simmons said privately to people that the next edition would be thoroughly checked and any issues fixed. This will be the third time that I can think of where they said a new edition would fix the problems. It used to be that the 2020 edition would get rid of the issues. It didn’t. The issues are too pervasive to be remedied and the whole project is hopelessly compromised. So, it seems that this “review” is to tweak it and keep selling it with a new edition that will once again fix the problems. Then, after Broadstreet announced they were reviewing their own money making project, Bethel announced it was pausing sales of TPT until it could be reviewed by “organizations.” It was odd that they mentioned multiple organizations reviewing it but named none, but I think it may just refer to Broadstreet’s own internal review or whoever Simmons can get to give him a good word. But Bill Johnson is STILL on the top of the endorsements on TPT’s site, so his active endorsement is ongoing today even while Bethel has paused sales. Then, after all this, YouVersion added an “in review” statement to TPT’s description page that almost no one reads because you must click on the three little dots next to the translation for more info (see 1st pic) But they still have TPT on the app and use it even for verses of the day (see 2nd pic). YouVersion also provides access to a bunch of Brian’s other resources (see 3rd pic). Let me be clear. Simmons is a fake translator, fake apostle who twists the Word of God and teaches dangerous theology. This is not a “play nice” situation. In this process none of these reviewers have contacted David Fish, JonMark Baker, or myself for our information to consider it. It would seem any worthwhile review caused by the claims we (and others) have made would probably include a conversation with us, even if it was just to prove us wrong. I truly wish I could say I trusted this process that Broadstreet, Bethel, and YouVersion are undergoing. I don’t trust it. I don’t trust them. TPT has literally been exposed for YEARS. They were all told (yes, I have receipts) and all chose to keep supporting this embarrassment.
