Ah, the Narrative of the Warring Paddies. Not heard that for a while. Mad little green paddies vs mad little orange paddies. With Chris left to referee. As bogus now as it ever was. Parades Comm and PSNI caused this mess. The question is ‘why?’
"We haven’t come to a settled agreement and it’s a shame but my door remains open obviously, tomorrow and in future days." Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Bryant described the situation surrounding the ongoing Drumcree dispute as being between a “rock and a hard place” after unsuccessful late-night negotiations at Hillsborough Castle with representatives from the Orange Order and Garvaghy Road residents on the fifth day of the stand-off. 🎥 PA

Are those old men still there, waiting to march? They are in their seventies and eighties. It is time for a medical intervention. I'm serious. Section them if necessary. It would be for their own good.

Bryant is NOT an innocent bystander is all this. Pretending to be an honest broker is disingenuous. He is a key actor and needs to do the rights thing and tell the OO they are not marching down the Garvaghy Road because they are not wanted.

Yes, with Bryant I always wondered what his politics amounted to in practice, beneath the presentational stuff that he obviously focuses upon . Now we can see the answer: not very much, at least at the moment. Maybe he will improve, as he learns a bit more about the post he has been given. But there's not much time for vaccilation.

It’s ok send these hatred loyalist scumbags to Troon, let this be a Scot’s problem, which will then send them back to England

Bryant can end it all in an instant by overruling the court and telling everyone to go home, have a rest, and start the discussions on the 3500 Orange marches and countless bonfires next year.

They brought this on themselves. In 1994 the Republicans abandoned the war on the Brits, preferring to fight the Orangies. To this day, no one gives a shit about British military bases in Ireland, but they fly into paroxysms of rage at the thought of a few oul' Huns walking down a road.

Kevin, the lack of respect for the law caused this. If the court had ended in a different outcome, you’d be shouting the law must be obeyed. So far SF has possibly broken Covid laws, Civil laws and now back to suspected Criminal laws. They have to be held to account.

That is exactly the question. And it's not being asked enough. How did we get into this mess in the first place?

100 percent true and his rhetoric in recent speeches at his party's conference have been unhelpful and offensive (to some) too. Either a bad one or out of his depth.

This prick will walk away, like all the rest that should never have been here, and never look back. Why we're asking him his opinion is beyond me.

Onky 2 peeps can trigger mutual aid. SoSNI or CC PSNI. PSNI Risk assessment allowed PC cover to approve march. Key point, psni said they had no info to suggest trouble at time of PC discussion. So what changed and when? When was Mutual Aid triggered. CC PSNI has qs to answer.

A prevalent attitude in Britain from my experience living there. 'We're just honest brokers here. None of this is our fault. It's just them Paddies hating each other for no apparent reason. Mad in this day and age innit.' It makes you want to throw up.
