The hoops we jump/ed through to keep my kids out of this doom spiral cannot be measured. I will never regret getting in front of this. While terrifying at the time, my kids fared far better than the average Oregon student -- and now, so do my grandkids.

In the last decade, Mississippi has risen from near the bottom to 16th in education. Oregon ranks at 47th/48th, depending on metrics. Maybe Oregon's 'edumakated' progressives need to start cheating of the Mississippi GOP's paper before we all end up in summer school...

I had to research this further as I could not possibly believe that Mississippi was #2. Not the point of your post (as as an Oregonian I appreciate your bringing attention to this), but I'm just focused on Mississippi. The chart doesn't mean that Mississippi has the 2nd best overall academic outcome in "overall" performance. It just means they beat their "demographic expectations" by one of the highest margins in the country. Removing the warping of the data here, MIssissippi is like 30th to 35th nationally on absolute scores. BUT - to your point - Oregon still sucks. 38th to 44th overall. Sorry - total detour.

Eh… That chart and the nature of its “demographic adjustment” should be scrutinized. Are we seriously supposed to believe Mississippi has the 2nd highest standardized test scores in the country? There is no data given just colored bars generated by a culture war twitter acct 🤔

Yep Oregon has reached the bottom. Some rich stay for family, some leave for less taxes especially inheritance taxes OR is over $1mil taxed NV is no inherit tax on any estate. Plus everything else we are taxed and fees on.

That is successful democrat leadership. Oregon was not remotely what democrats wanted, but they have very successfully seized total power and wielded it to maximum effect for decades. They have made it into the place democrat voters want it to be. Portland is their model home.
