Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed is getting torched after calling a pregnant woman "an adult" or "juvenile human" during a town hall at Western Michigan University.
A pro-life student asked El-Sayed why he should vote for a progressive candidate. El-Sayed's response: abortion restrictions reduce "an adult, or sometimes even a juvenile human" into "simply a carrying vehicle for a fetus that has not ever breathed air." He never once used the word "woman."
Conservatives ripped the remarks as dehumanizing. Former GOP gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon fired back: "Radicals like Abdul El-Sayed use language that removes the gentle, loving relationship between mothers and their children to achieve their goal of destroying the American family." El-Sayed faces Republican Mike Rogers in a high-stakes Senate race that could determine control of the chamber.
