Next spring I'm going to renovate the roof garden on my house, and do something truly unique - it's 100 metres square, so I can build something bold. My house is right by the sea, and from my roof I can see Cornwall over the other side of the water, which adds a nice touch.

Earlier this year I did the Krav Maga instructor course in London - I'm now looking forward to doing MMA as well for the first time in years. Krav Maga and MMA are the best blend in martial arts.

The House of Collections museum displays some of the best contemporary Icelandic art, and is well worth visiting if you get a chance to go to this beautiful country. Icelandic art is as much shaped by the national geography as the sagas and the rest of the culture.

The Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague has some of the most famous works by the Dutch Masters (including Vermeer, Rembrandt, Hals, Steen, and Rubens), as well as numerous other works; it's one of my favourite smaller museums. The "selfie" is with Rembrandt's painting of Homer.

Last week I gave a two hour seminar at Vrije University in Amsterdam on AI, robotics and the future of geopolitics and war. The whole event was very interesting, with specialists from around Europe, from Oxford University to the Netherlands to Ukraine.

Top tier performances in Amsterdam last night of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto 3 and Mussorgsky's Pictures. The pianist Giorgi Gigashvili played the Rach 3 cadenza perfectly. The up-and-coming young German conductor Aurel Dawidiuk was also excellent.

This book by the late Sir Roger Scruton is one of my favourites on nineteenth century opera. I reread it recently after seeing Tristan and Isolde for the first time since 2021 (I seem to see it once every five years). It goes through the Schopenhauerean and other themes well

Last night I gave a talk in Cambridge about our new book, The Artificial Intelligence Revolution. Special thanks to Cambridge University's Centre for the Study of Existential Risk, one of the most important think tanks in any university at the moment, for organising the event.

The production of Tristan and Isolde at the Longborough opera house in the Cotswolds this year is terrific. They kindly upgraded us to the central boxes -- the best seats in the house -- since we ended up with seats in different places due to booking late.
