Spring made me cry – tears of joy! It was not until I did my first fox watch since the human intruders left the cemetery that I realized how not being able to spend time with her had weighed me down. Spring is very precious to me and I am so proud of her rearing her cubs and navigating the many challenges she faces wisely.🤩 She was shy at first and sat opposite me around 20 metres away. We both looked at each other with lots of “slow blinking” for reassurance, rebuilding trust. Eventually she came a little closer and happily tucked into her chicken dinner. Getting a closer look at her, I noticed that the left side of her face is a little swollen – it could be an abscess from a dental issue. Apart from that she is in perfect condition with a great weight, beautiful new coat and lots of energy, chasing after a mouse in the thicket. I will of course keep a close eye on her and when I am not watching, the trail cameras will help to monitor her and her family's wellbeing again.

❗️ 🇺🇦 Ukrainian forces are using drones to deliver food to civilians trapped in Russian-occupied Oleshky. In one of the largest recent operations, around 4 tonnes of food were dropped at 100 locations across the city. Around 2,000 Ukrainians remain trapped there, including dozens of children. People are struggling without reliable access to food, electricity and water. And even getting the food is dangerous. Russian forces shoot down drones carrying supplies, confiscate or resell the food, while residents risk detention and beatings for receiving Ukrainian assistance. THAT’S JUST INSANE!!!! Ukraine has to fly food by drone across the Dnipro to feed its own citizens because Russia occupies their city and won’t let them leave. Russia is not only refuse to let civilians safely leave Oleshky. International humanitarian organisations, including the UN, have still not been given access to bring food and essential supplies into the city.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT - Yesterday, I made a serious mistake while trying to register the domain name helpdanny.org, and instead of directing all web traffic from it towards an appeal to help the recently arrested Danny Tommo, all visitors were sent to my RNLI appeal for The Flying Farage instead and it’s jumped up to £397,173. Upon realising my mistake, I tried to log back into the control panel provided by the domain name company, but I couldn’t find the piece of paper that I wrote the password on. Upon further investigation, I learned that my eight-year-old had turned it into a paper plane and it had flown out of the back door and into the garden, where a waiting badger picked it up and then ran off to use it as bedding in his sett. They can be quite vicious apparently so I didn’t want to try and get it back in case it scratched me, and so I’ve been trying to guess the password. I’m pretty certain that it’s 26 random characters long but with the word ‘frenulum’ in the middle, but until I’ve figured it out the domain name will have to take people to my RNLI appeal instead. Thanks for your understanding in this matter.

At Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary we are disheartened to see the recent rise in negativity directed toward the veterinary community. Having worked alongside many of these professionals for over 20 years, we can attest that the vast majority( not all) are driven by a profound love for animals, not financial gain. The teams on the front lines—vets, nurses, and receptionists —care deeply for every patient that walks through their doors. It is important to remember that they are often working within systemic constraints beyond their control. Let’s not forget the incredible sacrifices these teams made during the pandemic: working in full PPE, consulting in the rain and snow, and staying at their practices to ensure our animals were never without care. They are the backbone of animal welfare. We ask our community to remember that we are all on the same team, working toward the same goal: healthy, happy pets. Let’s trade criticism for compassion.
