My issue with this game was honestly that it didn't feel different enough from DD1. I was burned out almost as soon as I started because of how much I've played the first game.
So hype. I beg people to give this game another chance if you quit it before. If you’re ever in the mood. There’s still nothing like it.

The Emperor is more likely to be the Roman soldier who stabbed Jesus with the Spear of Longinus (which in 40k lore would probably be a Fulgurite Spear) than actually being Jesus.

Introducing HashFly by @FutureBit, an experimental Bitcoin miner based on a reconstructed fruit fly brain using 2,914 real neuron connections to run SHA-256.
The team says that if the system could be scaled using actual organic neurons, it could theoretically hash at roughly 1 W/TH, around 10x more energy efficient than leading 3nm silicon ASICs.
For now, it’s an experiment. But biologically inspired Bitcoin mining is officially a thing.

This seems backwards to me. If your primary concern is the minis and tabletop then the setting almost doesn't matter. Whereas if your primary interaction with the IP is the lore then the setting is the only thing that matters.
If you don't actually play the game, collect minis, or otherwise engage with the tabletop side, then your opinion on the setting shouldn't matter
