America’s service academies have spent generations preparing leaders to meet the challenges of their time. Now, we’re working to build the United States Space Academy, a @NASA-led institution for the challenges ahead in space. Our U.S. Space Academy roadshow kicked off at Annapolis, where we got a great look at the leadership, technical training, and culture that make these institutions so important. A big thank you to @NavalAcademy for being outstanding hosts! Next up: Air Force Academy, Merchant Marine Academy, West Point, and Coast Guard Academy. Let’s get after it!

Albania is officially the 73rd nation to sign the Artemis Accords. Minister @HoxhaFer and Ambassador Ervin Bushati of @AlEmbassyUSA joined us at NASA Headquarters today for the signing. The relationship between our nations goes back more than a century. Today, we’re extending it into space as Albania joins like-minded nations committed to peaceful, responsible, and transparent exploration.

Welcome to the Artemis Accords, Djibouti! It was a pleasure welcoming @AmbDoualeh to @NASA Headquarters as Djibouti became the 72nd nation to sign the Artemis Accords. Our coalition of like-minded nations continues to grow, and so do the opportunities to work together as we return to the Moon and prepare for Mars. We’re glad to have Djibouti with us.

Today, @NASADepAdmin and I hosted the first meeting of the Commission on the United States Space Academy. We were honored to welcome @SecWar, @SecAFOfficial, and leaders from @NASA, @WHOMB, @WHOSTP47, @WhiteHouse and across the Administration to @NASA Headquarters. Under President Trump’s leadership, the Artemis Program, Artemis Accords, and Space Force were established, and soon there will be a prestigious United States Space Academy to help ensure American leadership in space by developing the talent necessary to advance our national security, scientific, and economic interests across the great frontier.

Today, we held the first working session of the Presidential Commission charged with developing the framework for this new institution, bringing together @SecWar, @SecAFOfficial, and leaders from @NASA, @WHOMB, @WHOSTP47, @WhiteHouse, and across the Administration. Over the next 120 days, we have a lot to figure out in our report to the President: governance, curriculum, service pathways, location, implementation, and more. That work starts now. We have an extraordinary group around the table, a clear mandate from @POTUS, and a responsibility to build this the right way to invest in America’s future in space.

Grateful to @POTUS for establishing the commission for the United States Space Academy. We are entering an incredible Golden Age as space becomes rapidly more accessible and increasingly necessary for commerce, science, national security, and, of course, exploration and discovery. The means are quickly becoming available to build humanity’s first outpost on the Moon, expand our reach into the outer solar system under nuclear power, and use telescopes like Roman to reveal tens of thousands of worlds across other star systems. And these capabilities will accelerate in the years ahead as advances in AI, quantum technologies, additive manufacturing, and robotics unleash possibilities once barely imaginable. We should be building the talent pipeline now for the extraordinary future ahead. Just as the importance of a Space Force became increasingly clear as the domain evolved, we should be equally forward-looking about developing the scientists, engineers, technicians, operators, pilots, and astronauts who will lead this next great era. I have no doubt many will make their way through the United States Space Academy, ready to take on some of the most consequential and exciting challenges of their generation.

Thanks to @POTUS’ vision and overwhelming support, NASA is energized and moving with urgency to keep America number one in space. We are returning to the Moon, building the Moon Base, and preparing for Mars and beyond.

The President of the United States called into the NASA press conference after the historic Roman Telescope launch. There is a reason nearly 70% of Americans support NASA's return to the Moon, compared with just 35% during the Kennedy era. The world’s most accomplished space agency, backed by @POTUS, bipartisan support in Congress, and an extraordinary workforce, can absolutely achieve the near impossible. We are returning astronauts to the Moon, building the base, getting underway on nuclear power in space, with many more exciting missions like Roman to follow!
