LETTER SENT TO GLOBAL NEWS FROM RETIRED MEMBER RCMP - October 1 2025 Good evening, I have been following blogs and live feeds related to this story. There is a real human spin off to this story. Had this been in the first 2 months of the infection of the Avian Flu for these birds, I would have to say, I would have agreed with the CFIA decision. However, it has been 206 days since the last illness and according to experts, these birds have acquired herd immunity and should be studied at the very least. According to blogs at the beginning of this challenge, blood samples were taken and sent to a lab in Quebec. Coincidently, 2 weeks later, the lab was bought out by big pharma as I understand it. All employees signed NDA s at that time. The CFIA will not allow any blood samples to be taken on their watch as it turns out. This make no sense as there is a huge upside to this story if the heard has antibodies and it can be used to make vaccines for other poultry. Oh ya, the ostrich farm is isolated and not used for food. I am a retired RCMP officer after approximately 30 years. The police incentive to be at the front line is for the overtime benefits in most cases. Guaranteed. To me the flow of the Order for Destruction does not make sense. The people of the farm need help. There have been many supporters and I commend them for their support and speaking out. There are allegations of threats to hotels and suppliers as well. I do not support this if it has indeed happened. The real story here is the huge government overreach. The way it is being dealt with is just wrong.
