Unpopular opinion: Pimping home runs isn’t growing baseball. It’s turning off a lot of people who genuinely love the game.
There’s a difference between celebrating a big moment and showing up your opponent. Baseball has always been built on competition, respect and a certain level of humility.
You want to admire a home run? Fine. But when the celebration becomes bigger than the accomplishment, we’ve lost something.
The game doesn’t need more theatrics to be entertaining. The game itself is enough.
