The Bank identifies rising global energy prices, driven by the Middle East conflict, as the principal inflationary pressure. It also says the Budget will REDUCE inflation by 0.25 percentage points by Q2 2027. Most temporary migrants cannot claim public funds. Asylum seekers cannot claim Universal Credit. Foreign aid is already being cut. And your proposed solution? Blame foreign nationals, abolish aid and promise cheaper energy. Explain how cutting welfare or foreign aid reduces international wholesale energy prices. Show us the independently costed savings and precisely how they translate into lower taxes and bills. Households deserve serious economic policy, not an entirely unrelated scapegoat. The Bank of England published its evidence today. Perhaps read all of it before claiming it supports your argument.
