My father grew up in the Jim Crow South. He came to Michigan, started a trucking company with one truck, one trailer, and no excuses. By the grace of God and an amazing team, my brother and I helped turn that company into one of the largest Black-owned businesses in the country. I was born on Eight Mile and raised in Detroit. I know what this city has endured, and I know what its people are capable of. I’ve lived the American Dream, and I want that for you. How long are we gonna put up with broken promises from these limousine liberals who only show up in Detroit on election years, take our votes, and deliver empty promises every year in between? You deserve a governor who understands what it means to grow up here, who’s created jobs and scholarships FOR DETROITERS not someone who’s been in power in Lansing for 8 years already who parachutes in at election time, peddling lies, division and fear while she faces multiple racial discrimination lawsuits from black women! Detroit deserves better. Michigan deserves better. And I’m honored to earn the opportunity to deliver it.

The biggest reason these don't get carried much is the most unexpected fact that they're too heavy. Isn't that weird?

#Grok #Bond Not every topic, not every answer, but here's a solid example of why I keep coming back... Question for Grok: What is the quintessential "best" James Bond movie? The singular greatest one, no lists, no second guesses, just the one, you decide. 4 seconds later, the answer: Goldfinger. It is the one that locked the entire idea of a James Bond movie into place and then executed that idea at a level the series has spent sixty years trying to match. Connery is fully formed, neither the rough prototype of the first two films nor the later self-parody. The plot is clean and mean: a simple gold heist scaled into an attack on Fort Knox, with a villain whose plan, personality, and visual signature (Oddjob, the laser, the gold-painted girl) are still the default mental image of “Bond villain.” Shirley Bassey’s title song, Ken Adam’s sets, the Aston Martin DB5, and the pre-credits sequence are not nostalgic extras; they are the grammar every later film either copies or reacts against. Later entries have better action (Casino Royale), heavier themes (Skyfall), or more literary fidelity (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service). None of them is more purely a Bond film. Goldfinger is the point where the formula stopped being an experiment and became the thing itself. 🤯Wow, good answer. 👍

.@AbdulElSayed just straight up LIES about how schools are funded in Michigan. Michigan stopped funding schools through local property taxes in 1993. Detroit Public Schools spends almost $22,000 per pupil. Novi Community School District spends less than $14,000 per pupil. It stopped being a spending problem a long time ago.

You compare Trump to Saddam Hussein, even though YOU, you were elected to the Senate on the EXACT SAME MICHIGAN BALLOTS that elected Trump to the POTUS. The statewide ballots that voted for Trump supposedly also voted for Slotkin, requiring us all to believe that Michiganders split their ballots. It's all BS, you know it, I know it, the majority of Americans know it... Your days in politics are limited to your current appointment.
We’re coming up on 30 days until the election, and people are worried about our elections. First and foremost, YES: our elections are safe and secure. Our elections are administered by the states, and despite attempts by the president to interfere, our democracy is standing tall and pushing back. The Supreme Court said the president cannot interfere with mail-in voting. Attorneys general, including Michigan’s, pushed back against efforts to access state voter rolls and won in court. And the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff acknowledged that if uniformed military touch voting machines or ballots, it is illegal. There are a lot of people working hard to make sure we have free and fair elections. As always, to protect our democracy and free and fair elections, it will take engaged citizens and principled leaders.

Pro tip, when eating your vodka lumpfish caviar off your paper plate, on toast with cream cheese and a slice of hard boiled egg and washing it down with your Yuengling traditional lager, do not add salt, the caviar is salt. You're welcome 😏😉

#DSA #DefendtheConstitution #Elections The oath and the DSA program cannot both be true at the same time. The oath says three things that matter here. The person swearing it promises to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. They promise true faith and allegiance to that Constitution, freely, with no mental reservation and no plan to evade it. And they promise to do the duties of the office they are about to enter. The Constitution they are swearing to is the one that exists. It creates a Senate. It gives every state equal votes in that Senate, and it says no state can be stripped of that equal vote without its own consent. It creates a President, elected on his own, with powers Congress does not control. It creates a Supreme Court that is not chosen by Congress and is not under Congress. DSA’s own program, “Workers Deserve More,” says the opposite. In its own words, the goal is to “draft a new constitution, and create a democratic socialist republic.” It says the present political structure is an enemy, and that full victory means “building a new society from the ground up.” On the offices themselves it says: abolish the Electoral College, “replace the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress,” and “abolish the Senate.” That is the conflict, in plain terms. You cannot swear true faith and allegiance to this Constitution while your stated goal is to replace it with a different one. Allegiance to a document is not allegiance to the idea of someday writing a new one. You cannot swear to support and defend the Constitution while your program names the Senate, the presidency, and the Supreme Court as things to abolish or put under Congress. Those are not side issues. They are parts of the Constitution. You cannot swear to discharge the duties of senator, or of any office under this Constitution, while committed to ending the Senate and turning the President and the Court into creatures of a single legislature. The duty is to the office the Constitution defines, not to a future office in a republic that does not exist yet. The oath also says the promise is made with no mental reservation and no purpose of evasion. A mental reservation is a private limit on the promise. DSA’s public program is that limit. It says the Constitution is an obstacle, the Senate should go, and the President and Court should answer to Congress. Someone who holds that program is not promising to uphold those institutions. They are promising, at most, to use the office until those institutions can be removed. That is why the oath cannot be trusted from someone who accepts this program. Trust here does not depend on guessing what they feel. It depends on what they have already written down. The oath binds them to this Constitution and these offices. Their own platform says those are what they intend to replace. Both statements cannot be kept. Nothing in this makes advocacy of an amendment illegal by itself. The point is narrower and stricter. A person who has adopted, as their political aim, a new constitution, no Senate, and a president and court subordinate to Congress has already said they will not give the existing Constitution the allegiance the oath requires. On their own words, the oath would be false when spoken.

I asked @grok based off my post. What would my house look like and this is what I got So far off and nowhere near what my house looks like. I should try this with ChatGPT and see what I get. 🤪🤪🤪

In 2014 Justin Verlander tossed a baseball to Kate Upton. In 2017 they were married. 9 years later, their eldest daughter brought her dad off of the pitcher's mound one last time. 20 years of baseball and a beautiful family. This is the quintessential American game.
