Tonight, I was a proud YES on H.R. 9340, the Ratepayer Protection Act, because growth and innovation should not come at the expense of hardworking American families. We are making sure that ratepayers in Florida and across America do not pay more for data centers, and we will continue to protect Florida's vital water resources for the future of our state.

This morning, I spoke before the House Committee on Natural Resources in support of my bill, H.R. 9017, the Restore Florida Water Independence Act of 2026. In 2024, a federal district court in Washington, D.C., stepped in and stripped Florida of its rightful, state-level authority to handle Section 404 wetland permits. Since then, our state’s safety projects, habitat restoration, and critical infrastructure have been stuck in federal bureaucracy, burdened with delays of 18 months or longer. My bill puts Florida back in charge and restores permitting authority to those best equipped to protect our state’s natural resources: Floridians.

It’s been 25 years. We will never forget. We still mourn the 2,977 lives lost on that horrible day — families in New York and across America shattered by an act of cowardly, unthinkable violence. We still remember the heroes — the first responders who ran towards danger, the patriots who rushed the cabin of United Flight 93. We will never forget. @erikadonalds and I are praying for all of the 9/11 families today.

Hard to believe it’s been a year without my friend Charlie. He was a man of deep faith, conviction, and a profound love for this country. Charlie left us far too soon, but the movement he helped build and the generation he inspired carry his legacy forward. Miss you, brother. We’re still in the fight.

The MAX POWER aerospace technology expo and air show will showcase the power of American exceptionalism, securing our absolute dominance in space as we continue to lead the world into a new Golden Age of space exploration. I look forward to this major two-day event in November!

I’m proud to announce that the @USDOT has just granted @MyFDOT more than $350 million in funds to improve and invest in our railways across Florida. This will make a real impact on transportation resources like Brightline, Amtrak, Floridian, and AutoTrain routes. It’s an honor to work with @POTUS's administration to invest in the future of Florida.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my former colleague, Congresswoman Kay Granger. Kay was a true conservative trailblazer who spent nearly three decades delivering for the people of North Texas, breaking barriers as the first Republican woman to represent the Lone Star State in the House, and later, the first Republican woman to chair the House Appropriations Committee. Erika and I are praying for her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

My team had the honor of attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 30,000-square-foot expansion at Cape Coral Technical College. This new state-of-the-art facility will offer five brand-new trade programs—including automotive, construction, and welding— designed to prepare Southwest Florida's next generation to enter the workforce with real, tangible skills. Looking forward to seeing these new programs empower our students and local workforce!
