🚨 A Senate committee passed the Mystic Alert Act—a bill to prevent future tragedies by improving access to emergency alerts during storms—clearing the way for a vote on the Senate floor. The Senate must hold a vote on it so that we can take action before the next disaster.

But ICE has detained many of them, including Houstonian Annie Ramos, and it appears that the Department of Defense has worked with ICE to make it happen. @SenWarren, @SenDuckworth, and @SenBlumenthal, @RepGoodlander, @RepChrissyHoulahan, @RepDeliaRamirez, and I demanded that DoD and the VA restore longstanding policies recognizing military service as a significant mitigating factor in immigration proceedings. ⬇️

106 years ago, the 19th Amendment was adopted, but the work to attain full equality continues, as we fight against the erosion of access to, and attacks on, reproductive care, equal pay, and even voting rights.
