Today, @HHSGov is sitting on $100 million in already approved funding for the bipartisan Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) program - funding that reduces teen pregnancy, STIs, and other health risks.
This isn’t because of bureaucracy. It’s the Trump administration pushing a dangerous health agenda that puts our youth’s health on the line.
I led Rep. @KellyMorrisonMN, Sen. @PattyMurray, and 89 legislators in demanding HHS release these funds now.

This week would have been Dr. Jane Wu's 63rd birthday. Instead, her family is grieving after she died by suicide following years of unjust, cruel scrutiny by the Trump administration.
Dr. Wu spent her career pushing the boundaries of neuroscience and building a life in the country she chose to call home. Yet she was treated as a suspect simply because of her ancestry. She was never charged with wrongdoing, and the investigation into her ended without a finding of misconduct. But the damage was already done.
Racial profiling of brilliant scientists destroys lives and careers, drives away talent, and makes our country weaker.
We owe it to Dr. Wu to ensure programs like the China Initiative are never revived and no researcher is ever again treated as a suspect because of where they or their family come from.

More than 20 months after the LA Fires devastated our communities, thousands of survivors are still rebuilding their homes and their lives. FEMA is withholding millions of pre-approved funding for the Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP), which is at risk of closing a full year prematurely and leaving thousands of survivors stranded in their recovery process.
The DCMP supports survivors with FEMA and SBA loan applications, temporary housing, and other critical resources needed by our communities as they rebuild.
Today, I’m once again joining @BradSherman, @SenAdamSchiff, and @SenAlexPadilla to demand FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton take immediate action to stop the DCMP from shutting down, and release the necessary funding needed to make sure our survivors are not deserted when they need help the most.

Today, I joined @RepNateMoran, @RepLindaSanchez, @RepBrianJack, @RepFriedmanCA, @RepDavidKustoff, @RepMikeCarey, @RepTomSuozzi, @SenAdamSchiff and @SenatorTimScott to introduce the bipartisan, bicameral Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act, which would create a new federal tax credit to incentivize film and television production here in the United States.
Southern California has long been the heart of America’s film and television industry, but many productions are leaving for other countries, taking an entire industry of good-paying jobs with them. It’s time we bring productions and jobs back to the U.S. and support our creative workforce.

One month ago, catastrophic flooding tore through communities across northern and central Nepal, devastating 1.6 million people.
Today I led a bipartisan letter with @RepGraceMeng & @CongressmanRaja urging Trump and DHS Secretary Mullin to immediately grant Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to Nepal. TPS will allow Nepalis already in the U.S. to stay and work here while it's too dangerous to return home.
Forcing Nepali families back to a home that no longer exists is cruel. We need to act now.

This week I joined @ajsocal_ and @jamuseum to discuss the state of immigration in our country.
Trump's anti-immigrant agenda has trampled on the rights and due process of our immigrant communities, particularly AANHPI immigrants. Since Trump took office again, deportations of Asian immigrants have skyrocketed by 1,103%. In 2025 alone, deportations of Southeast Asian elders rose more than 20-fold compared to the year before.
Our immigrant communities contribute to every facet of American life. I will always stand with them.

During the Eaton Fire, families had little time to evacuate, forcing pet owners into an impossible choice: leave their pets behind, or risk their own safety by staying.
My bipartisan bill, the PETSAFE Act, would expand FEMA funding to help state and local governments plan for and protect animals during disasters.
Our pets are family. Our disaster plans should protect them too.
Americans consider pets to be a part of the family and when disaster strikes, many won’t evacuate without them. The PETSAFE Act would let state and local governments invest more in pet-inclusive emergency planning by covering more of the cost with existing federal funds.

First, Republicans made ACA coverage more expensive. Now, the Trump administration is removing more than 750,000 people from the ACA marketplaces.
This is the opposite of what Americans need. Taking away coverage doesn’t make health care cheaper. It pushes people deeper into medical debt, strains the system, and raises costs for everyone.

Today, on National Military and Veterans Suicide Awareness Day, I remember my nephew, Harry Lew, who died by suicide after being brutally hazed by fellow Marines while serving in Afghanistan.
Far too many servicemembers and Veterans are still losing their lives to suicide. That’s why I’ve demanded answers about the VA’s serious mental health workforce shortages, and I will keep fighting to ensure those who serve our country can get the lifesaving care they deserve.

Now, he is being held at the South Texas Detention Complex with a bullet lodged in his body, forced to sleep on the floor with no pain medication. This is the reality of the Trump administration's brutality.
I have joined @RepCasar's letter demanding an independent investigation. This violence must end.
I’m demanding answers from DHS and ICE about today's shooting in Austin.
They must preserve every piece of evidence, release the body cam footage, suspend the agent, and brief Congress.

After the Eaton Fire devastated our community, timely mortgage payments dropped dramatically. That's because thousands of families were unsure on how they were going to meet their mortgage payments, all while trying to repair and recover their homes. I'm relieved that mortgage relief for victims has been extended, but relief shouldn't be a fight every time disaster strikes.
That is why we must pass my bill, the Mortgage Relief for Disaster Survivors Act, to guarantee homeowners with federally backed mortgages up to a year of forbearance after a disaster. Natural disaster survivors nationwide deserve certainty while they recover, not more worry.
