Under Donald Trump, ICE has literally lost count of how many pregnant women in detention have suffered miscarriages. In October 2025, they stopped keeping track. This administration is not pro-family. If they were, they wouldn’t be ripping families apart, caging law-abiding immigrants, and stopping pregnant women from getting the healthcare they need.

Earlier this week, I joined my fellow Co-Chairs and some members of the @UkraineCaucus in meeting with President @ZelenskyyUa in New York. I was honored to accept the Ukrainian Order of Merit from him. I have long said Ukraine is on the front line of the fight to save democracy. The values they are fighting for today are the same ones the United States defended in World War II. Despite nearly five years of relentless attacks from Russia, Ukrainians have persevered. Today, the Russians launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv just as we were meeting with members of Congress and discussing the Lindsey Graham law and the need to strengthen sanctions. Russia will not end this war without pressure. As people were sleeping, flashes from explosions lit up the sky. Once again, the main targets of their strike were Kyiv and civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, a maternity hospital, energy infrastructure, and logistics. Two people have already been reported killed. My condolences to the family and loved ones. There are also people who have been injured. Emergency services are working – people are trapped in one of the buildings. The air raid threat persists in some regions of the country. We discussed exactly how to protect against these threats with @RepBrianFitz, @RepMikeQuigley, @RepMarcyKaptur, @RepGolden, @RepJoeWilson, and @RepGregoryMeeks. Every such attack happens because the pressure on the aggressor has never become total, and Russia believes it can continue to bet on ballistic terror. Right now, the United States has an opportunity to respond strongly. We need ballistic missile interceptors to protect lives. Sanctions against Russia and those helping it make money must be implemented. I thank both parties for their readiness to help protect lives.

Of course high gas prices are “a very inexpensive price to pay” for Trump. He doesn’t have to worry about budgeting for gas, groceries, and rent/mortgage.

Trump's immigration enforcement is out of control — again. Last week, they shot a DoorDasher in Texas.    We've seen ICE and CBP lie about these shootings before — including here in Chicago. I was honored to join fellow Chicagoans in jumping in the Chicago River on Friday!   While this year’s River Swim was cancelled due to weather, the Chicago River Big Jump still raised money to support ALS research—a cause close to my heart. I was proud to pass my bill, the ACT for ALS, into law in 2021, and I'm currently working on reauthorizing this bill for another five years.
