Very often, Department of Labor employees are the first to encounter signs of human trafficking, forced labor, and exploitation. Earlier this year, the House passed my bill, the Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act, to provide these employees with the tools and knowledge needed to detect and address this heinous crime.

Businesses across our district like Evonik in Weston are at the center of southern Michigan's economic growth.   I enjoy touring their facility and learning how recent pro-growth policies from the Working Families Tax Cuts are fueling $284 billion in economic growth and securing over 7 million in new and current job opportunities.

It is shameful that many school districts cut parents out of important conversations regarding their child’s upbringing. In May, @HouseGOP passed my bill, the Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act, to prevent taxpayers from funding schools that conceal information from parents and advance radical gender ideology.

Decades of top-down federal mandates from Washington, D.C. have failed our students. By returning education to the states, we are giving parents, educators, and local leaders more flexibility and tools to tailor education to each child’s unique needs.

Since being established in January the Division for National Fraud Enforcement has uncovered BILLIONS of dollars in fraud. @HouseGOP just voted to codify this office to ensure the federal government can continue to safeguard taxpayer dollars, protect federal programs for those who need them, and pursue criminals stealing from them.

In today’s digital age, Michigan students, workers, farmers, and small businesses need reliable access to broadband services more than ever before. I was glad to see the @HouseCommerce Committee advance my legislation, the PLAN for Broadband Act, to improve coordination so that we can streamline efforts and accelerate the deployment of broadband.
