Today, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor the brave Americans who were held as prisoners of war and remember those who remain missing in action. In defending our freedoms, they faced unimaginable hardships and some sacrificed all on behalf of our nation. We owe these heroes a debt we can never repay. Their service will never be forgotten.

239 years ago today, 39 delegates signed the United States Constitution at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Our founders established the framework for a government that remains the greatest experiment in self-governance the world has ever known. This Constitution Day, we remember that this document is not just an artifact of history but a guarantor of our God-given rights. As your representative, I will always fight to defend the Constitution and the freedoms it secures for the American people.

This morning, I joined the Clermont Police Department, Clermont Fire Department, and members of our community to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to remember the extraordinary courage of our first responders. 25 years later, we will never forget.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, a day that forever changed our nation and one that we will never forget. We remember the 2,977 lives that were taken at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Though the terrorist attacks sought to divide our country, they instead awoke the courage, resilience, and relentless spirit of the American people. We remember the selfless first responders who sacrificed their lives to save others, the brave passengers aboard Flight 93, our servicemembers who answered the call to defend our nation, and the countless Americans who came together in the face of tragedy. As we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we must never forget those we lost or the sacrifices made in the days and years that followed. To every veteran and first responder, thank you for your service to our country, communities, our freedoms, and our way of life. A grateful nation thanks you. May God bless the victims and their families, our first responders and servicemembers, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.

One year ago today, Charlie Kirk’s life was taken far too soon. Charlie loved our country, was unashamed of his faith in Jesus Christ, and dedicated his life to encouraging the next generation of Americans to engage in the public square. His conviction and commitment to the principles he believed in leave a lasting impact on countless Americans. Sandy and I continue to pray for Charlie’s family and loved ones. May God comfort all who mourn Charlie’s loss and may we each seek to serve others with kindness, conviction, and humility.

Critical minerals are essential to America’s future, yet for too long leftist demands and liberal bureaucrats have caused permitting delays that left us dependent on foreign adversaries like China for the resources that power our economy, strengthen our military, and fuel American innovation. We can both protect the environment and responsibly mine. That’s why I voted to pass the Protecting Domestic Mining Act. This commonsense legislation streamlines the permitting process for domestic mining and mineral projects, helping secure critical mineral supply chains, strengthen American manufacturing, and create jobs here at home.

81 years ago today, World War II came to an end as Japan’s unconditional surrender was signed on the USS Missouri. Today, we remember the more than 16 million Americans who served during World War II and honor those who gave their lives defending our way of life and defeating tyranny. Their courage and sacrifice preserved freedom and changed the course of history. We owe them a debt we can never repay.

Today, I voted to condemn socialism in all its forms. Throughout history, socialist regimes have concentrated government power at the expense of individual liberty. The United States was founded on a different premise, that our rights come from God, not the government. While radical socialists seek to abolish our Constitution, seize American businesses, and consolidate power in government, my @HouseGOP colleagues and I reject their failed ideology and reaffirm the principles of freedom, opportunity, and limited government that have made America the greatest nation on earth.

I cosponsored and voted to pass the Stop Insider Trading Act, as Americans expect their representatives to serve them and not themselves. I ran for congress to serve as representative for the people in my district, not to use my seat to position myself for financial gain. Every year since being elected to Congress, I have rolled back my salary, personally returning a check to the U.S. Treasury to set an example and help pay down the national debt. This bill is a commonsense solution to keep members of Congress accountable.
