That number isn’t a prediction. It’s the target our campaign is organizing around.
For perspective, Republican candidates in Illinois’ 1st Congressional District received 50,960 votes in 2018, 85,027 in 2020, 78,258 in 2022, and 108,064 in 2024.
So when people ask me, “What does it take?” my answer is simple:
118,714.
That means every door matters. Every phone call matters. Every conversation matters. Every person who tells a friend matters. And ultimately, every vote matters.
We’ve built a campaign with an audience of nearly 320,000 followers across our tracked platforms, and our September reporting shows that audience continuing to grow.
But social media numbers are not votes.
The job now is to turn awareness into participation and participation into ballots.
The finish line is November 3.

John served with me as my Deputy Commissioner twice in the NYPD and as a Deputy Chief in the LAPD. Rikki and I had a great time, and as always, a lot of laughs and wonderful shared memories.
