Oh look, another pompous, Hollywood douchebag that wants to "put their own unique spin" on a pre established IP. That's a totally braindead take on cutscenes and gameplay that misses the point entirely. The gameplay is what continues the "drama" in the cutscenes because you're playing through the story, not just watching it. Anybody skipping the cutscenes isn't playing it correctly and nobody needs to listen to that person's opinion.

Stop letting people who hate video games make adaptations about video games.

I’m so tired of people who don’t understand games adapting games. The average gamer doesn’t just skip all the story. They wouldn’t bother adding it, were that the case. As a gamer and game writer, I find the assertion insulting. Additionally, story doesn’t just exist in cutscenes. It’s not something tacked on as an afterthought with no connection. Good games weave gameplay and story together. I know why it happens, but I’m still appalled by Hollywood’s consistent inability to just take an existing beloved game story and adapt is as the same story.

Because he has a series he made that no executive will touch with a ten foot pole due to how much the audience will hate it. But if he slaps the name of a beloved franchise on it, he can trick people into watching his self-fellating wankery. That's how all of these work.

Motherfucker, if you don't want to adapt the story of a video game why the fuck are you even adapting it at all?

Man, playing games before launch for review is such a privilege and a pleasure. But when you're truly stuck time and time again, without any hints available online, it really feels like being back in the pre-internet era 😩

I think banning people for "problematic" usernames is stupid. I remember fighting dudes in Halo 3 called "Master Chief's Big Naturals" or being summoned by people in Dark Souls called Clitticus of Clittoria & I thought it was hilarious. Even on Marvel Rivals you see all sorts of "problematic" names but then I remember I'm an adult & I just laugh & move on. I think the more you cater to crazy people who want to police your gaming spaces, the worse they will become. Cause you'll never be progressive enough to meet their insane demands
