This is spot on. These for-profit prisons are incentivized to get as many prisoners as possible and give them the least expensive care. We hear about that over and over. People are not getting food. It’s edible. Conditions are abysmal. Children a group together taken from their parent. And as AOC says so many of these Republicans, if not all of them before they authorize these private prisoners bought into their corporations. They’re on the take.
AOC: That’s why they are going after every man, woman, and child… Because the CEO of Geo Group and the CEO of CoreCivic—they’ve got profits at the end of the quarter to post.
And if you think I’m not telling the truth, just look at the Republican members of Congress that like to invest in those stocks right before they authorize funding for ICE. They’re all on the take.
ICE is a new agency, created in the surveillance-state establishment after 9/11. ICE is Palantir. ICE is AI. ICE is facial recognition. ICE is surveillance. And ICE is coming after you, regardless of your status.
And so that’s not to say that there shouldn’t be any enforcement….
