For more than two months, I have been working on a truly horrific story about one of the gravest war crimes committed by the United States since Vietnam: The bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Iran. It was one of the first targets struck in the opening hours of the war on February 28, 2026. At least 156 people were killed in the U.S. cruise missile strikes—120 of them were children and 26 were teachers. We spoke to survivors, first responders, parents, doctors, teachers, psychologists, and other witnesses. Some of them had never before shared their experiences of that day. It would be impossible to do justice to what happened in Minab that day with words alone. In more than 25 years in journalism and reporting on war, I do not believe I have reported on a more heinous single crime. Massacre at Minab: The School That Became a Grave dropsitenews.com/p/minab-sch… Please share this story with as many people as you can.

Listen to this Israeli military analyst speak in English to an IDF spokesman, where they boast that the law they just got Trump and Congress to enact to mandate greater "cooperation" between the US and Israeli militaries will tie the hands of a future US President whom Americans elect to stop aiding Israel. They also say that Trump's obligation with the time he has left is to merge these specific joint US/Israeli military programs as aggressively and rapidly as possible, to make it as difficult as possible for it to ever be undone by the US democratically:

🇮🇱 Israeli PM Netanyahu secretly met UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed on Sunday and asked him to deny that he warned Netanyahu of a major Hamas attack days before October 7, a source with firsthand knowledge told Haaretz. Haaretz reported this month that bin Zayed spent 45 minutes on the phone with Netanyahu about ten days before October 7, explicitly warning that Yahya Sinwar was planning a major operation. Netanyahu reportedly said Hamas was focused on the West Bank and never briefed his security chiefs. The New York Times has since confirmed the warning. Netanyahu calls the report an "absolute lie" and has threatened to sue. He also denies reports by The Atlantic and The Wall Street Journal that Egypt's intelligence chief repeatedly warned him too.

The Guardian reports FM Araghchi is waiting in the US over the weekend for Washington’s response to Iran’s 7-day proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The FM said China is fully on-board and reporting suggests Saudi Arabia could likely endorse the plan as well. The kingdom was already set to approve the new Iran-Omani Strait of Hormuz routes and agreement earlier this month before new attacks from Yemen contributed to Saudi Arabia pulling out of the planned conference. The Guardian also said Araghchi told reporters Iran’s 7 preconditions were not new, and were included in the Islamabad memorandum of understanding (MOU) that was previously signed by Trump.
⭕️ FM Araghchi (in remarks reported by FT): 🔹Tehran “not in a hurry” to reach an agreement based on Iran’s 7-day proposal. 🔹 “I think it would be much better if it is done before the midterm election, but it depends on the US administration to decide. We don’t care about the timing.” 🔹“But the plan is very clear… The moment they accept this plan, from the next day, this timetable can start, and after seven days, the strait will be open.” Reporting on Iran’s President’s comments is below ⬇️

My friend @HosseinHamdieh has written a perceptive op-ed in the Guardian about the ways that war has changed public sentiments in Iran. "One can witness the birth of a strong dislike for the US, alongside a growing desire to build Iran back better. There is a wider sense that this war is clarifying something." theguardian.com/commentisfre…

It took almost half a century and a series of catastrophic wars in the Middle East for the Gulf states to realize that their security should primarily be based on a security architecture together with countries in the region - through dialogue, trust building and cooperation- and not to rely on foreign powers which invariably work in their own self interest… and more importantly that Iran is -and will remain- their neighbor and a necessary component of any sustainable regional security arrangement. I Hope - as I have been calling for decades- that the rest of the Arab countries also recognize - unfortunately through bitter experience- that a credible regional security regime among all countries of the region, including Turkey, is the best way for peace and stability in the Middle East (subject of course to the end of Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Territories and the establishment of a Middle East nuclear weapons free zone.
🇦🇪 🇶🇦 🇸🇦 🇮🇷 🇺🇸 “Gulf states have called for a reset on Iran, with the United Arab Emirates urging a “new mindset” and Qatar advocating for a regional “security framework” with Tehran after the war exposed their vulnerability to Iranian attack and tarnished the US’s credibility in the Middle East.” (…) “Saudi Arabia has also discussed the idea of a non-aggression pact between Middle East states and Iran since the war erupted, diplomats and analysts said, as part of talks with allies on how to manage regional tensions once the conflict ends.” ft.com/content/2a0d724d-b2be… via @AliVaez via @FT

So @SecScottBessent is stating that he will "shut down" all Iranian airlines on September 23. What he hasn't explained is how this advances U.S. national security. What we know is that this is an attack on Iranian healthcare supply chains. Over 60% of Iranian medical imports arrive by air. Of this total, around one-third are “medicaments containing hormones,” a category which includes insulin for treatment of diabetes and certain cancer treatments. Just over 10% are vaccines, both for human and veterinarian use. Another 6% includes blood products used to treat infections or support clotting. Bessent's move threatens the health of ordinary Iranians. To what end? bourseandbazaar-substack.org…
