The world faces two energy problems: hundreds of millions lack access to energy, and most of our energy still produces greenhouse gas emissions. The first energy problem of the world is the problem of energy poverty. People in very poor countries have very low emissions. The reason that the emissions of the poor are low is that they lack access to modern energy and technology. When people lack access to modern energy sources for cooking and heating, they rely on solid fuel sources — mostly firewood, but also dung and crop waste. This comes at a massive cost to the health of people in energy poverty. The reliance on fuelwood is also the reason why poverty is linked to deforestation. The second energy problem is the one that is more well-known: greenhouse gas emissions are too high. The problem is larger for the extremely rich, but it is not limited to them. People need access to energy for a good life. However, in a world where fossil fuels are the dominant source of energy, access to modern energy means that carbon emissions are too high. Once we look at it this way, it becomes clear that the twin energy problems are really the two sides of one big problem. We lack large-scale energy alternatives to fossil fuels that are cheap, safe, and sustainable. Until we scale up those alternatives, the world will continue to face the two energy problems of today.

Israel is already using A.I. to determine who lives and who dies in Gaza. Even in war, we should not let an algorithm play God. We must stop this deference to A.I. before this becomes normalized. trib.al/cP8pZ3S

The denial is understandable it is too big for the political muppet show class and all academic now do is measure 📐 and document the decline.📉 not a single attempt to make ice management for bringing back the cooling albedo, most in leadership like lobbyists and PR are lazy and apathy. ‘Switzerland's glacier report 2026 is out. Swiss glaciers have lost 5% of their ice volume this year. Only the last 5 years accounted for nearly 20% of the total ice loss across Switzerland. The numbers are devastating. 📹VAW Glaciology

Not proud, but I once got creative and registered a team of 20-year-olds in a U10s tournament. Other coaches kept saying "you can't use them" and "they have beards" and "I think that's Myles Lewis-Skelly." But whatever happened behind the scenes, the game is won on the pitch.

Hi Tom, NHS consultant here. The NHS is supported by impressive, innovative and ground breaking technologies provided by a wide range of outstanding multinational corporations. It is a false dichotomy to suggest to people that if we want good health care, we must align with genocide supporting organisations like Palantir. Hope that helps. Niz
Later today protesters will demand ‘No Palantir in our NHS’    While they protest, someone, somewhere will get an operation scheduled earlier, a cancer diagnosis quicker, a loved one home from hospital sooner - thanks to the software that those protesters would switch off.   Here is what you won’t hear. Trusts using the software have recorded: • 117,000 additional operations • 14.3 per cent reduction in discharge delays for long stay patients • 5.6 per cent improvement in the number of people receiving a cancer diagnosis within 28 days     As a more articulate person once said: ‘certain facts, although in a sense known to be true, are inadmissible.’

The front page of @ScotNational tomorrow is what every UK newspaper front page should look like. But, as throughout the entirety of the genocide, it stands alone with a moral backbone, not afraid to tell the truth about the horrors the rest of the press whitewash.

Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks. Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.
