What a shocking piece of journalism. @Nick_Delehanty loses a business that employed people, and the @IrishTimes decides to kick him while he is down, branding him a “failed election candidate” and attaching several other negative labels, including “anti-multiculturalism,” which is not even an accurate description of his position. Nick has written extensively about government overspending, the cost of IPAS, the people becoming millionaires from Ireland’s immigration system and many other important issues. Yet those stories receive little or no attention from the mainstream media. His business folds, however, and suddenly it becomes a national story. This is the Irish media at its worst. Go after the messenger, ignore the message and celebrate when a dissenting voice suffers.

A man tries to enter politics because he believes ordinary people are being crushed by the cost of living. He later loses his business, and one of Ireland’s biggest newspapers gloats about it. They are not on your side.
