We are figuring it our for ourselves. We know we aren't getting social security, we save for our retirements like you should have. Our figuring it out involves cutting off the welfare queens pissing away a third of our federal spending.

The joke underlying “If you believe this I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you” is that only the gullible would think the Brooklyn Bridge is FOR SALE—not whether the Brooklyn Bridge EXISTS. These are the people insisting they’re educated enough to tell you what the Bible says.

On average, Boomers are getting paid more from Social Security than they “paid into it.” A lot more. Like double, and that’s counting inflation and interest. In raw dollars, they’ll get four to seven times what they paid in. So what about this compromise, to at least stave off insolvency and save billions: you get back what you paid in, but no more. Young families won’t be forced to finance a 250 percent return on your “investment.” That seems extremely reasonable, doesn’t it? It doesn’t go nearly as far as I would like. But it’s a very fair compromise. It completely negates any claim that you didn’t get the money back that you “paid in.” And yet I suspect that this comprise will not be satisfactory. Why is that? Because this debate actually has nothing to do with “getting back what you paid in.” The REAL demand is for a lot more than that.

They literally have an excuse or a trauma-based rationalization for every single thing a woman does. A woman is always the victim.
“What girl who has been gang raped wants to go to the same guys’ party for a second time?” A majority of them actually. Revisiting the crime scene in an attempt to “fix” what happened is a trauma response based on denial and heightened risky behaviour.

I’m starting to think poor reading comprehension started with boomers because HOW are all of them getting, “we want you to raise our kids,” from, “hey mom, I have a DOC APPT in two months on a Wednesday. Can you watch the kids for two hours?” Being deliberately obtuse isn’t cute.

@MJKelleyII Yes, Aquinas wrote sola fide. No, Aquinas was not teaching the Protestant doctrine of justification by faith alone. Read the paragraph instead of turning two Latin words into a meme. Aquinas is saying that the works of the Mosaic Law are not the source of justification; justification comes through faith in Christ. Aquinas elsewhere explicitly says that justification involves faith, charity, and hope, and that merely turning to God intellectually is insufficient for justification. Quoting “sola fide” from Aquinas to make him sound like a Reformation Protestant is exactly why Catholics keep telling you to read Aquinas in context. corpusthomisticum.org/qdv27.…

There are a lot of great Boomers out there. But they didn't build this country into a superpower. They brought us the sexual revolution and the divorce epidemic and mass migration, and plunged the country into trillions of dollars of debt in the process. They will leave the country much poorer and less stable than it was when they inherited it. That's just a fact.

You are so WRONG! The “Boomer” slander on this app is out of control. They literally built this country into the Global Superpower it is today. They have EARNED every penny of Social Security they PAID for and then some!

Wrong. They actually still have a duty towards their children as their children still have a duty towards them. It is so embarrassing to see grown adults say that parents owe their children nothing.

The 7 are being charged with rape, genius. They are all degenerates but only the woman gets to play victim when she regrets her choices, and then irreparably destroy her male accomplices rather than take accountability for being a slut. You are another man-hating feminist.

Sola Scriptura literally gave birth to what we now call liberalism and individualism. 🤦‍♀️
To be conservative in America means that you adhere to a biblical worldview. Rejecting sola scriptura is an inherently liberal instinct in an American context and ultimately leads to liberal policies. We saw this recently play out on the issue of the death penalty.

Tired of this excuse. First of all, social security is not something you “pay into.” If it were, you wouldn’t need younger people to “pay into it” in order to get your check. But you do. Because this is a Ponzi scheme, not a retirement account. What you really mean to say is that your money was stolen from you — which it was — and now you want to steal from younger people to get restitution. That’s the actual case you’re making and it’s exactly as morally deranged as it sounds. Second, your generation continually for decades voted for politicians who would keep the scheme going. You might not have invented social security, but you damn sure made certain it kept going. Why should younger people have to pay the price for the shitty policies you supported? Third, you “paid into” social security in a different time. The country is now bankrupted and 40 trillion dollars in debt, and basic things like housing are prohibitively expensive. It wasn’t like that when you were young, because your generation of leadership created this problem. So the theme here is that there are a bunch of problems you guys either created or contributed to. You can choose to pay the price for that now, or force your grandchildren to pay the price so you can live comfortably until you die and leave them holding the bag. You’ve chosen the latter, and I think that’s wrong. Simple as that.

Matt, the older people expecting Social Security have PAID INTO IT their entire lives. Young people are just doing the exact same thing we did. They're not getting some special punishment to subsidize older people. And older people have a higher net worth BECAUSE THEY'VE WORKED!

The Eucharist didn’t exist in first century churches. It was a literal meal. Sort of like a Baptist potluck.
