As a millennial, one of the hardest things to process is that I still remember when things were actually good. Life was simple but kids played outside, food didn’t poison us, clothes lasted longer, and people were hopeful about the future.

So I teach at university. The number of PARENTS I’ve had to deal with this semester is absolutely astounding. That number should be zero. I owe parents absolutely NOTHING. Your children are full ass, legal adults. We’ve completely lost the plot..

Nobody wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants AI in every app. Nobody wants data centers in space. Nobody wants humanoid robots or flying cars. We want clean water. We want a stable climate. We want a habitable planet. We want wildlife to survive. We want to live.

I can’t help but hear people in line at Starbucks place their orders…extra shot of this…a drizzle of that…extra topping of…oat milk…and the list goes on. Would love to just get back to basic coffee drinking. A cup of black coffee, cappuccino or espresso. Keep it simple. ☕️

Hi @andyburnham there needs to be a law against this happening. Fine for employees to use AI to help productivity in their job. But sacking people and replacing them with AI is incredibly dangerous. Something needs to be done before we’re all out of jobs!

Well after today’s announcement from the Bank of England, there is something very, very, very wrong in the system. So … let me get this straight: * British Gas made a profit of £1.3bn between January & June * BP announced profits of £6.95 billion between April and June alone * Shell has profited by £9.4bn in a year The MEN at the top: * John Pettigrew, boss of National Grid received £6.5m bonus on top of his salary * Chris O’Shea, chief executive of British Gas owner Centrica was paid almost £2m last year in salary and benefits * Centrica's non-executive directors were paid almost £1m * Scottish Power's CEO Keith Anderson is on £1.15m. * E.On boss Michael Lewis is on £1m * EDF's Simone Rossi is also on £1m * And their top execs enjoyed a share of £4.65m * Peter Simpson of Anglian Water earned a £1.3m pay package * Welsh Water bosses awarded themselves bonuses of over £930,000 * Severn Trent bosses awarded themselves bonuses of £5.56m * Thames Water's Sarah Bentley, received a £727,000 bonus on top of her £2m annual salary Meanwhile there are... * People who haven't had breakfast and/or lunch TODAY, because they can't afford it. * People using FoodBanks because food is becoming more of a luxury than a necessity. * Children celebrating a birthday without presents. * Parents worrying about new school uniforms - and some schools enforcing rules which are not cost-effective. * People who can't get to work because they can't afford to put petrol in their cars/pay for public transport anymore. * People who are working so much they're making themselves ill, and they STILL CAN'T AFFORD to pay their bills. * People who have been given fines by these same energy/water companies because they couldn't afford to pay their bills in the first place - increasing their debt. * Customers being told to do STAR JUMPS TO KEEP WARM for crying out loud! * Hose pipe bans when gallons of water leak away everyday. * Elderly people NOT DRINKING because they're worried about running out of water!!! All this and energy prices are set to rise up to 75% in October... THIS IS MADNESS!.. I'm all for supporting profits … I'm not for supporting greed at the cost of lives of others. Something needs to change. Why is customers' money being used to make life more comfortable for those who are making life more intolerable for the rest of us? I actually don't understand how the energy companies are allowed to get away with this and why the government aren't stopping them instead of handing out money.....

French guy in the UK with half-English Kids. When my kids are at school I go on their Ipads watch Youtube shorts about PSG, Mbappe, Olise or Barcola, in the hope of tweaking the algorithms; and it seems to work. They can't grow up to become 'it's coming home'-idiots.

Is it only me or? - just watched the first 20 minutes of @bbcquestiontime about the UK rejoining the EU and Brexit (just like the good times 🤡) Obviously I'm for that, but not once, not once, in typical UK navel-gazing fashion did anyone even so much as suggest that the EU might possibly have a say on the matter. I don't want to be a killjoy, but despite encouraging noises in Brussels, public opinion in the EU is not necessarily that keen to throw the door wide open after all that happened ..... Would have been nice had someone at least mentioned that, but hey .....

For over 2 years, this road between Cupar and Dairsie has had roadworks, traffic lights and long delays. The only time the roadworks and traffic lights disappear is when the Dunhill Golf Championship takes place in St Andrews. Roadworks and traffic jams for daily motorists. Delay free roads when professional golfers and rich celebrities rock up. Britain in a nutshell.

Is it time to have a national conversation about having routinely armed police? I see this and similar behaviour all the time - people thinking they can do what they want because the police won't do anything and they can batter anyone who complains. This might be a deterrent?
In the last 24 hours, I have seen multiple people on trains -vaping -while having their phones on loudspeaker -with their feet up on the seats It’s hateful. The lack of respect for public spaces is endemic.

The tiger should NOT be put down. It's sad that a man has died, but that shouldn't cost an animal its life for behaving as nature intended. A wild animal shouldn't have to die because of human error.

Not sure if true but the guy who got into the tiger enclosure was reportedly with a "carer" which infers he was likely mentally disabled. This comes not long after a mentally disabled man with "carers" at another zoo threw a small child into the crocodile enclosure. It's time we had some serious discussion around this care in the community malarkey. Clearly there are places they should not be going regardless of support & clearly we need to examine who these shit "carers" are because they don't seem to be fit for purpose.

I hope she wins every single dollar she is suing for. Shaming customers for sitting in the seat they paid for is stupid and so are the people who are shaming her. Your failure to book seats that benefit you and your family is not the fault of the customers who did.
The woman who refused to give up the window seat she paid for to a crying child went viral, faced online backlash, and is now suing both the airline and the passenger who recorded her.

Dear employers, normalize not holding interviews when you have already decided who is getting the job. Some unemployed people borrow money just to cover transport costs to attend these interviews.
