Corey Comperatore died the way he lived, heroically shielding his family from gunfire. He was a former fire chief, a proud father, and loving husband. May he rest in peace.
Corey Comperatore, the man killed at Donald Trump's Pennsylvania rally, "died a hero" and dove onto his family to protect them when the shooting happened, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro says.
Comperatore, a former fire chief, was "an avid supporter of the former president, and was so excited to be there last night with him in the community," Shapiro says.
