It makes perfect sense - parents want to reserve the right to disown their children for any reason they want, but forbid the possibility of their children disowning them no matter what the reason. This is because they view children as property, like a car or pet.
Reminder that approximately last month Dave Ramsey told his listeners it was perfectly fine to cut your children out of the will for being "ungodly" which was in context clearly code for being a Democrat. I'm sure there is no connection between the two viral clips.
