And on cue - the perfect example of why the industry needs to back its reporters, not sell them out… and back itself, for that matter.
Please … Great that someone tells this self serving , sanctimonious, virtue signaling , sensation seeking biased broadcaster exactly how unimportant they are !

A timely reminder of three things: 1) pursuing the right to report - kudos @jamesmatthewsky (and perhaps not something they’re used to over the pond) 2) attempts to control independent media come from all sides 3) Courtesy goes a long way…
Michigan's Democratic candidate for Senate Abdul El-Sayed confronted @jamesmatthewsky, telling him he wouldn't answer his questions as he wants "zero" votes in the UK. Watch the heated exchange between the two. Watch our live coverage of the US midterms➡️ trib.al/BikRSb2

Not just internationally either... Cavendish is closing in the UK. Wonder how many hours of podcast pondering is fuelled by agency reporters getting minimum wage to cover the actual news pressgazette.co.uk/publisher…
Some truth in @lewis_goodall view that tv news has been slow to innovate - we can all reflect But @krishgm surely right … podcasts ponder but reporters report And in a world where more and more vested interests don’t WANT us to report, expeditionary journalism must be defended

One of the best discussions of modern media I’ve heard - well done @krishgm and @lewis_goodall . Wireless rather under mentioned but whatever .. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0033g…

Powerful speech by @UNReliefChief about attacks on humanitarians. Impunity must end. The same thing applies to journalists, by the way.
Killing humanitarians takes a chain of people. I want them to feel fear, shame, guilt. We demand they are held to account. Here are three ways to do that. My speech in Brussels today on protecting humanitarians.

I'm sad to be leaving @SkyNews today. I'm proud of what we achieved and the team we built. Thank you to all my colleagues, in every country and continent. Sky News is changing, as is the whole media industry, but I leave confident that new opportunities will emerge.

Why did an airstrike kill at least 120 primary schoolchildren on day 1 of this war? We are the first journalists from outside Iran to reach Minab since the atrocity and have found a town devastated by grief and demanding justice.

"The people here want answers as to why this happened." Sky's @DominicWaghorn reports live from the cemetery in Minab where more than 100 women and children killed in an alleged U.S. airstrike have been buried. When journalists are attacked, democracy is weakened and human rights erode, as citizens cannot make informed choices & polarization grows. Protecting them is not optional – is essential for safe, informed societies.

This is unacceptable in any circumstances but it’s happening during a supposed ‘ceasefire’.
Our colleague Amal Khalil, a brave reporter who has been covering Israeli attacks on Lebanon for the past years was targeted along another colleague Zeinab Faraj while doing their job in south Lebanon. Emergency services succeeded in rescuing Zeinab with injuries along with two casualties. Amal is still under rubble, the Red Cross tried to get closer, yet another Israeli attack pushed them back.

A reminder - please watch here ⁦@SkyNews⁩ team’s story of a week in Cuba… an already impoverished country being strangled by a new US blockade. Shocking scenes of a country on its knees, story told by Stuart Ramsay youtu.be/ZPDMfHlDre0

Remarkable film by @SkyNews inside Cuba, the next country in Trump’s sights. Stuart Ramsay and his team travelled across the country documenting the reality of the US blockade - starving people, empty roads, a strangled society. Watch his film here 👇👇👇👇👇
Cuba has been plunged into darkness, and its people are being 'paralysed' by Trump's tightening grip on its oil supply. Sky's Stuart Ramsay explores a country facing dwindling fuel reserves, a crumbling economy, and a health service that doesn't work. trib.al/HxwDCQD

Horrifying video which totally contradicts the Israeli military claims that the ambulances are being used for ‘military purposes’. The attacks killed 4 medics in Nabatieh in south Lebanon including a young father we interviewed a few weeks ago, Mahdi Abou Zeid. I’ll repost the report in this thread. His last words to us:’ If we rest, who will do the job’ 🧵
A horrifying video shared by the Nabatieh Emergency Services of today’s repeated and consecutive Israeli strikes on at least 3 different paramedic groups responding to a strike site in southern Lebanon, killing least 4 paramedics. Over 91 health workers killed since March 2.

I interviewed President Trump overnight on the telephone. All the details on all @SkyNews platforms. And listen to the Trump 100 pod. ON THE SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP & TRADE DEAL “It's sad… and we gave them a good trade deal. Better than I had to. Which can always be changed.” ON UK ENERGY & IMMIGRATION POLICIES “I love your country and I would love to see it succeed. But if you have bad immigration policies and bad energy policies, you have the worst of both. You can't succeed, not possible.” ON STARMER “I like Starmer, but I think he's made a tragic mistake in closing the North Sea oil. You see your energy prices are the highest in the world. And I think he's made a tragic mistake on immigration.” ON KING CHARLES “He's a great gentleman, a friend of mine. He's a fantastic person.”
