And on cue - the perfect example of why the industry needs to back its reporters, not sell them out… and back itself, for that matter.
Please … Great that someone tells this self serving , sanctimonious, virtue signaling , sensation seeking biased broadcaster exactly how unimportant they are !

One. One post. Nothing else. But hey. Well done.

Last word on this. I define myself on my journalistic track record over thirty five years, not a twitter trawl. Not perfect by any means, who is, but there we are.

Ok. Can you show any examples of this specific to what I referred to? I can’t find any posts at all of you doing this.

Hi Tim. What’s your thoughts on journalists being murdered by the Israeli state?

I think as anyone who has followed my posts on any platform will know - and more importantly has followed my work rather than my words - I stand up for reporters and the right to report, anywhere and everywhere

Thanks for your many messages of support but it wasn't me; it was him! 😂 We've been mates for 30 years and use the same hairdresser, so I'm often mistaken for the greatest journalist known to man - @jamesmatthewsky.

When you say hairdresser, what do they actually do…….? 😂👍

A timely reminder of three things: 1) pursuing the right to report - kudos @jamesmatthewsky (and perhaps not something they’re used to over the pond) 2) attempts to control independent media come from all sides 3) Courtesy goes a long way…
Michigan's Democratic candidate for Senate Abdul El-Sayed confronted @jamesmatthewsky, telling him he wouldn't answer his questions as he wants "zero" votes in the UK. Watch the heated exchange between the two. Watch our live coverage of the US midterms➡️ trib.al/BikRSb2

Extraordinary and *very* heated ding-dong between @TheNewsAgents' Lewis Goodall & @Channel4News Krishnan Guru-Murthy about TV news and what makes good journalism. It sounded about an inch away from actual fisticuffs. @krishgm wins 1-0, hands down. Long live actual journalism. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0033g…

Podcasts ponder, but reporters report. Very true words.
Some truth in @lewis_goodall view that tv news has been slow to innovate - we can all reflect But @krishgm surely right … podcasts ponder but reporters report And in a world where more and more vested interests don’t WANT us to report, expeditionary journalism must be defended

To be fair, it’s a generalism for the sake of a tweet. Some podcasts do an excellent reporting job and audiences clearly appreciate that. It’s the vast volume of more discursive products that perhaps I’m describing.

Not just internationally either... Cavendish is closing in the UK. Wonder how many hours of podcast pondering is fuelled by agency reporters getting minimum wage to cover the actual news pressgazette.co.uk/publisher…

One of the best discussions of modern media I’ve heard - well done @krishgm and @lewis_goodall . Wireless rather under mentioned but whatever .. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0033g…

Powerful speech by @UNReliefChief about attacks on humanitarians. Impunity must end. The same thing applies to journalists, by the way.
Killing humanitarians takes a chain of people. I want them to feel fear, shame, guilt. We demand they are held to account. Here are three ways to do that. My speech in Brussels today on protecting humanitarians.

🚨🔵 EXCL: Everton are set to sign Chelsea academy product Arthur Barratt, fee agreed for a permanent transfer. The 2009 born midfielder had interest from several other PL clubs, but #EFC see him as an important investment in their strategy to secure young talents.

Thank you for being such a fantastic boss with an incredible instinct for a story - typically well before any of the competition. Huge good luck on your next adventure 💪
I'm sad to be leaving @SkyNews today. I'm proud of what we achieved and the team we built. Thank you to all my colleagues, in every country and continent. Sky News is changing, as is the whole media industry, but I leave confident that new opportunities will emerge.

.@TimSingSkyNews is one of those rare editors who genuinely lives and breathes the story. Tough, passionate, endlessly curious — and fiercely protective of the teams he sends into some of the world’s most dangerous places. I’ve seen firsthand how deeply he cares — not just about the journalism, but about the people behind it. He’ll be hugely missed.
Thank you @TimSingSkyNews For your integrity, your leadership, unfailing sound judgment and unswerving commitment above all else to your teams, our safety and the story. It’s been a privilege working with you.

100% this. A journalist's journalist in every sense. It has been a privilege to work with @TimSingletonNew. How many people can say that about their boss?
