The House Democratic Caucus says, “Governor Spanberger's Data Center Accountability Framework is a step in the right direction. It focuses on our shared priorities of increasing transparency, supporting Virginia workers, strengthening environmental standards, and ensuring data centers pay their fair share. We look forward to continuing to work with Governor Spanberger in the upcoming 2027 legislative session to develop thoughtful legislation that holds data centers accountable.”
On Gov. Spanberger’s data center plan, the Senate Democratic Caucus says in part, “The Commonwealth currently has a Joint Tax Subcommittee studying data center policy and related fiscal matters. We will carefully consider the Governor's proposals as part of our ongoing review through that established mechanism and our normal legislative processes.”
