Manitoba, you’ve changed your clocks for the last time. We are just going to stay on summer time a.k.a. Central Daylight Time, a.k.a. The time it is right now. What does this mean for Manitobans? No more changing clocks twice a year. More evening daylight in summer time. More light for your drive home from work in the winter. Less disruptions to sleep and routines. No more springing forward or falling back. So this November 1st, the times they will NOT be a changin’.

If you’d asked “Should we force everyone to start work/school an hour earlier than Standard Time, in cold winter darkness, the answer would’ve been no.

Terrible idea, 9:30 am sunrises in December-January, everyone going to work and school in the dark, at the coldest part of the day, Standard time is the only way to go.

It's good to be ahead in the summer, as you say, but now your morning commute (including kids going to school) will be all dark in the winter because of this. This is why changing clocks a mere two times every 365 days is the best solution, in Canada anyway. It's not hard.

This decision to keep us on daylight saving time is wrong, Wab. It won’t be light until after 9am when kids walk to school for three months of the year. Jets games now start at 8pm, etc etc i wish an informal online survey is not how you made such a lifechanging decision for MB

Standard time would be better, but not changing is still a win.

Yeah but what about the safety of children walking to school in the dark?

I’m sorry Wab, big mistake. I was hoping someone in Canada would get it. That standard time is the healthiest natural circadian rhythms . Putting the clocks to standard time is the best.

I disagree, everyplace should stay on standard time. Noon or midday in the middle of the day, not at 1PM. It's a 24/7 type of world nowadays, not a 8-4, 9-5 world anymore. Stick with nature!

You are stealing healthy morning light from all Manitobans. There are few benefits on the winter on your list to offset losing morning light.

Daylight savings time is an invention from the past. All of Canada should opt out. Let's leave this hour change to the cute random fact section of random wierd history

Permanent daylight time has considerable health risks...possibly even cancer. Bad choice for an entire population
Why are they saying permanent daylight saving time will improve our health when the science says otherwise?

The disruptions to sleep and routines did not come from turning the clocks back an hour, they came from turning the clocks ahead by an hour.

This guy not only gets a massive salary paid by taxpayers and accomplishes nothing, then gets a massive lifetime pension. But he also gets massive kickbacks from all the First Nations Chiefs who hoard all the billions of $$ from the government that is meant for their People.

Eastern Daylight Time is the way to go. Morning visibility is incredibly important, especially for school aged children. We don’t need more evening light. We need evening darkness for our circadian clocks to function properly. EDT is the actual time. Why would anyone choose EST?

I fully support ending the twice-yearly clock changes and adopting permanent daylight saving time. This would provide more daylight in the evening during the summer months, improve consistency for businesses and families, and eliminate the disruption caused by changing clocks twice a year. More evening daylight can also encourage outdoor activities and enhance overall quality of life.

This is a bad choice indeed. Children will be walking to school in the dark. Standard time would have been the better choice by far.

That'll be nice. I hate the annual late fall change back to standard time, when it then gets dark before 5 p.m. SO depressing. In Ontario we need Quebec and NY State to agree to make that change. @CFrechette @GovKathyHochul @NYGovPress Year-round Daylight Savings Time, pls!🌞

Well, it's was bound to happen sooner or later. Wab made a bad decision. If the change should happen, it should be permanent standard time. Time will tell and guide the switch going forward. Otherwise, Wab is great.
